Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, April 16, 2012
Page 3 I would like to say Mayor Rinker, this is the second time I came here and an officer from the police
department retired. I don't know if you want me to come back in here. But I enjoyed the cake and
the coffee.
To update you a little bit on our meetings. We have had some great meetings. I wish more people
would just join this organization. You don't have to be old. You don't have to be a historian. In
May, we have a speaker speaking on the Van Sweringen's railroads. To join our, organization, it's
$10. If you went to Shaker's Historical Society to hear these speakers, some of them we interchange
speakers, you pay $5 in order to hear the speaker. These are good speakers. Come and listen to them.
In September we have an ice cream social. In October, Patsy has a great display of the Quilt Show.
The bi-annual Quilt Show. We are going to have exhibitors and a speaker.
Anyhow, on behalf of the Historical Society, thank you very much again.
Council President Buckholtz thanked Mr. Muhle for his comments.
Council President Buckholtz asked, do we have anyone else who would like to address Council?
There were no comments.
COlYSiDERATION..OF 1VIINUTES :
Regular Council Meeting - March 19, 2012
Dr. Parker, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to approve the minutes as written.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All Motion Carried
NAYS: None Minutes Approved
Special Council Meeting - Anri12, 2012
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to approve the minutes as written.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All Motion Carried
NAYS: None Minutes Approved
COMIVVIENTS FROM MAYOR RINKER
Mayor Rinker stated, Al, before you leave, I just wanted to take the opportunity to thanlc you. As
a reminder for all of us, I think it was probably 1988-89 when the Historical Society
representatives first approached all 4 communities and asked for some kind of help. Mayfield
Village at that time tendered $2,000-2,500. Annually, and you consider the inflationary factor
there, I would say, you have taken that annual amount and stretched it beyond what anyone ever
would expect. There isn't another organization I think that can quite compare with the quality of
the work and the diversity of prograinming opportunities for people. It's really a gem. It's
