Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, July 16, 2012
Page 9
STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Activities Committee - Mrs. Mills would like to thank Randy Hyde and the Fire and Police
Department and all of the Villagers who enjoyed the July 4th ceremonies. There's a lot of work
that goes in to this before the presentation. Bill Thomas does an excellent job making sure that
everything goes well during the day at the pool. This has turned into a rather glorious 4th of July
celebration. I am very proud of that. I had more compliments this year on the whole program
from the pool a11 the way through the fireworks. We are doing something right. I am very
pleased with that. Our next meeting will be on September 18t'. We already had one Concert on
the Grean that was very well attended. August 8th will be the Friends of the Library Annual Ice
Cream Social. We will be discussing at the meeting Tree Lighting for the holidays, the Menorah
Lighting and the Singing Angels. It seems like that is a long way away, but it will be here before
we know it.
Architectural Review Board - Mr. Marrelli reported, Architeciural Review Board met last
Thursday. We had three issues. We approved a small addition to a home on Meadowood. We
approved a new home to be done on an empty lot on Bonnieview and two new townhouses were
approved the 1'arkledge development down the street.
Board of Appeals - There was no meeting. There is no report. .
Cemetery - Mrs. Mills reported, Legend Monument Company is working diligently to get the
monuments back in place with the help of the Service Department. Hopefully within the next
month the whole thing should be completed.
Citizen's Advisorv Board - Ms. Wolgamuth reported, at the meeting on June 25?', a resident
and Fairmount Board member did a presentation on Arts in the Village. I took the opportunity to
also do an update on Village projects. That was when I was able to show Mr. McKnight's site
plans and drawings to the Committee. I personally fmd that very helpful. It's hard for me to
describe to the Committee what asphalt we might be removing or where we might be putting
pathways so I do find it really helpful to have the visuals to share. We had a brief discussion on
regionalization of services. Mr. Marrie did his usual Council report. The next meeting is
scheduled for September 24?'.
Safetv and Service - Mrs. Cinco reported Safety and Service met on Monday, July 2nd. At that
time, the Fire Department discussed the Fire Investigation Unit and the Reserve Ambulance.
Most of these items are on the agenda tonight to be voted on. We also discussed the patient
loading system for the ambulance with the grant from the Ohio BWC. We discussed the Wiley
Park site preparation and sidewalk and again we had the visuals for that. The Senior Snow
Removal Program will be going out for bid with Council's approval tonight. Our next meeting is
next month.
Finance Committee - Mrs. Mills reported, we had a meeting tonight. We have two changes.
The one is the motion to authorize the axnount of $79,852.00 to Stryker Medical Corporation for
the loading system. That has to be changed to not to exceed $82,000.00. That's item number 7.
It's on page 3 of the agenda this evening. That's because of the installation of the units
