Special Council Meeting
6-2-03
Page 3

1

Council President Buckholtz asked where does that put us?
After calendar dates were checked, Council President Buckholtz said that will be the 14th [of July
for the Public Hearing.]
First Reading of Ordinance No. 2003-21, entitled; "An emergency ordinance authorizing a
contract with the Great Lakes Construction Company for the furnishing and installation of all labor
equipment, materials, appurtenances and incidentals required to widen and reconstruct 2.14 miles of
S.O.M. Center Road (State Route 91) from Wilson Mills Road to White Road." Introduced by
Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole.
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council requiring an
ordinance to be read on three separate occasions.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Rules Suspended
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Marrie, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 2003-21
Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion.
Mr. Marquardt said this 10 1/z million brings the estimated total cost to date up to about what?
Mr. Brett said probably about 13 million dollars. For Council's benefit, I spent all day bringing
in reimbursements from O.D.O.T., DOPWIC and SIB up-to-date. Right now it's pretty tight but
we've got sufficient funds to do it. We've drawn down $121,000 from Issue Two. That leaves
us with about a little more than $900,000 left there. We've gone down abut 1.5 million on the
SIB; that leaves us about 1.6 million there and we've drawn down one million seventy-seven on
the TRAC; that leaves about 8 million there; we've got about $800,000 in cash in the fund.
Again, we are going to be talking with people from O.D.O.T. this week.
Mr. Marquardt said it sounds like we are about a million or a million and a half over now (of
funding available.)
Mr. Brett said this does not include engineering.
Mr. Marquardt asked, the $13,000,000 doesn't include engineering?
Mr. Brett said no the funds that we talked about now-the 10.5 million does not include....
Mr. Marquardt said but in total we are about 1.5 million beyond.... I think we should note that
the original estimate was about 8.2 million with the engineering so we are over substantially.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there were any other comments.
