Regular & Caucus Minutes <br />8-18-03 <br />Page 5 <br />SOM Widening (continuing with the Department Head reports): Mr. Metzung said the area will <br />be shaved down so you can view the new waterfall. He is hoping a path will be there. We are still <br />on schedule for the opening of the road on Saturday. <br />Bernie Samac (Building) <br />Progressive - Mr. Samac said Progressive started its 4th building. The infrastructure is going in <br />as we speak. <br />Council President Buckholtz questioned the date for finishing the building; Mr. Samac said <br />Saturday. <br />Mr. Brett said the Governor will be out August 28 for aribbon-cutting ceremony. <br />Mr. Riter expressed thanks to Mr. Samac and his department; special thanks to Debbie Garbo, <br />for providing him with good information about the West Nile recently. <br />Joseph Diemert or Diane Calta (Leal) - Mr. Diemert said most of his comments will come up <br />under the agenda items. One item is Costanzo. We had applied immediately for reimbursement <br />and received a call today from O.D.O.T. that we will be reimbursed 100% for that. <br />Chief David Mohr (Fire) -Chief Mohr said we had 3 ambulance calls during the power outage. <br />We had purchased batteries for the UPS system earlier in the week and replaced them Monday; <br />the power went out Thursday. To be proactive, we could use more generators for the traffic <br />lights. A resident on home oxygen equipment used one of our generators. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked about the 9-1-1 equipment. <br />Chief Mohr said the 9-1-1 equipment never went down. He explained about cellular phones <br />crashing at first but coming back on. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked for details about the Village generators-amperage, wattage, <br />etc. <br />Mr. Samac provided information about the Village's generators and explained they kept the <br />entire Police Department functional for all of its electrical needs during the recent outage <br />including air conditioning. <br />Chief Mohr said since the installation of the police station generator, it is the fourth time this <br />summer it has worked for us; one was the result of a traffic accident and there were 2 storms, <br />then the power outage last Thursday. <br />Philip Brett (Finance) - Mr. Brett presented Council with copies of the Fiscal Officer's <br />Certificates for Ordinances 2003-29 and 2003-30. <br />
