Regular Council Meeting
9-22-03
Page 11

Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
1

Authorization Given &
Expenditures Authorized
^ Upper 40 Creek Restoration (Special Meeting 9/29/03)
Mr. Brett said his understanding is that the bid was given a 7-day extension; there was a
technicality involving an addendum and that creates the need for a special Council meeting to
approve those bids in a timely manner.
Council President Buckholtz said so it's next Monday night and asked about the time.
Mr. Brett asked about having it at 6 in the evening and the wage negotiation committee will
sandwich between. So if the wage committee is finished with its work by the Council meeting,
then everyone will go home; otherwise, we will take a break and come back to wage negotiation.
We will start wage negotiation at 5; the Council meeting at 6 p.m. and then continue with wage
negotiation [if necessary.]
Council President Buckholtz questioned if everyone could make 6 p.m. for the meeting and
everyone agreed they could.
Special Council Meeting set for Monday, September, 29 at 6:00 p.m. to discuss Upper 40
Creek Restoration.
First Reading of Ordinance No. 2003-32, entitled, "An emergency ordinance authorizing and
directing that a portion of the funds collected from area businesses in the days after the horrific
events of September 11, 2001 be allocated to construct a place of peace and tranquility in
coordination with the current development of scenic nature zones within the Village."
Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole.
Council President Buckholtz said we want to leave this ordinance on first reading; we have had
discussion already. This is not something we are going to do right away or in any haste. This is
something that I'd like to do over the duration of the buildout of the Village in regard to finishing
the road and starting to work with natural areas of the Village. Any comments? There were
none so Council President Buckholtz said we'll leave it on first reading.
Ordinance 2003-32 was given first reading.
First Reading of Ordinance No. 2003-33, entitled, "An emergency ordinance authorizing and
directing that a portion of the funds collected from area businesses in the days after the horrific
events of September 11, 2001 be allocated to initiate the purchase of a fire house vehicle and
inviting all communities within the Mayfield School District to join in the purchase."
