Edelman said Chief Dearden contacted the representatives from 7 cities in the area who utilize <br />medians in their roadways-specifically: South Euclid, Gates Mills, Pepper Pike, Cleveland <br />Heights, Shaker Heights, Mayfield Heights and Brecksville. The overwhelming response was <br />favorable, specifically in regard to traffic safety. All the cities who we spoke to said that there was <br />no detriment to police response to those areas served by the median. Actually the records of traffic <br />safety were actually improved with the median in the roadway. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked if Council could get a copy of the report. <br />Lt. Edelman said yes. <br />Council President Buckholtz addressed Chief Mohr and asked, you had no problem with this? <br />Chief Mohr said no; nothing has changed. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked, any other comments? <br />Someone in the audience asked if there could be comments from the audience. <br />Council President Buckholtz said we will have an open portion coming up if that's okay.
