ROUGHDRAFT - NOT REVIEWED OR APPROVED BY COUNCIL
10-20-03
Regular Council Meeting
-~~ Page 5
Village other than Progressive. There really aren't that many people from Progressive who take
advantage of that. There are 60 or 70 and we aren't sure how many use it on a regular basis.
Sewer Liaison Committee -Council President Buckholtz said there was no report.
Drainage and Infrastructure -Mrs. Cinco said there was no meeting this month.
SPECIAL COMMITTEE REPORTS
SOM Widening Committee -Mrs. Mills said she will defer to Mr. Metzung.
Mr. Metzung said White Road is going to be reopening on Wednesday. The sub-base for S.O.M.
has been completed and a section is to be poured in the next month or so. You can see the
baskets have been laid. They are preparing to lay the concrete from White Road to an area just
past Metro Park. They placed the first half of pedestrian underpass in and the first half of the
culvert by Parkview Drive to the Metroparks. It is moving right along. This is going to be a
tough time now because of the weather. When they come to place the concrete, traffic will be
very bad. We have asked today that they get some electronic signs warning people in advance
the days that they are going to be placing their concrete so people know it is coming and that we
can avoid as many cars as possible driving through that area because it is not going to be pretty.
_~ Mrs. Cinco said it will help with White Road being open.
Mr. Brett asked about Mr. Zako.
Mr. Metzung said we will move Mr. Zako guaranteed.
Wage Review Committee - Dr. Parker said the committee is pleased to present this evening the
First Reading_of Ordinance No. 2003-36. Hopefully, everyone will notice that this represents a
lot of hard work and time taken over many, many months from start to finish that the committee
has invested in this. We are hoping it will be found with lots of support.
2020 Vision Committee - Mr. Marquardt said we met last Wednesday and discussed the close to
the final draft of the recommended [Master] Plan. There will be a public meeting on the 29`h
Second Reading of Ordinance No. 2003-32, entitled; "An emergency ordinance authorizing
and directing that a portion of the funds collected from area businesses in the days after the
horrific events of September 11, 2001 be allocated to construct a place of peace and tranquility in
coordination with the current development of scenic nature zones within the Village." Introduced
by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole. (First Reading 9/22/03)
Council President Buckholtz said we will leave this on second reading.
f
