Minutes of a Public Hearing October 6, 2010 i
Page 31 '? .
?
Mr. Fikaris: It was the Commission's idea. Like we said, we were pretty much by ourselves
most of the time. ?
Q• Yeah, but You did have PeopI'le come in to make recommendations or to answer your
questions, correct? I
?
Mayor Rinker: Which is the question? That's a compound question.
Q: Is that correct? Or am I-
Mayor Rinker: Well, no, you asked a question or you asked two questions in one, because you
aze asking two very different questions.
Q: The Mayor stated that Council members and he himself were asked to come in when you
had questions towards what you could do and what you couldn't do on the Charter
Review Commission.
Mayor Rinker: Ask a question.
Q: Was there any one stated, did any one of those members of Council or the Mayor come to
you and say, well you should look at this issue because we could do this or we could do
that, or if you want to look at this issue, we could do this or we could do that, or was that
totally the Commission's idea?
Mr. Fikaris: The answer's no. No, the answer to your question, did he come and say this, that,
the other thing? No: We had one meeting with the Mayor. Council did not attend our
meetings. I
Q: No members of Council were questioned or asked questions?
Mr. Fikaris: We asked questions not specifically of Council but each member, each Council
member, I believe each head of the departments is traditibnally asked to attend meetings
and provide input to the Charter. _
Q: Okay, so you weren't coached'in any way?
Mayor Rinker: By the way, there are Minutes to those meetings. You are welcome to read
them. I don't think they're too long. Do you have a question in the back?
