Regular Council Meeting Minutes
11-15-10
Page 4
Regarding the leaf pick-up, Mr. Saponaro asked, are we scheduling any particulax days of the
week?
Mr. Metzung replied, no.
Mr. Saponaro asked, are we trying to put out any schedule?
Mr. Metzung replied, we attempt to get through the Village, touch every street once a week.
That is our goal. But it's nearly impossible for us to schedule streets and be able to provide with
the most pick-ups that we can. In other words, if we were going to do a schedule, we'd have to
actually reduce our service to make sure that we cover each street.
Mr. Saponaro stated, residents are concerned that if they are putting their leaves out on a
Tuesday, well you could have already picked up on Monday. There's nothing scheduled, they'll
pick up when they pick up on their streets.
Mr. Metzung replied, right. We're fairly consistent in that that we try to start over on Mondays
so that it gets some consistency to it. I can't tell you that we'll be anywhere in particular.
Mr. Saponaro replied, okay. Thank you.
BUILDING - John Marrelli
Mr. Marrelli reported this evening you have before you the off-street parking ordinance that we
pretty much rewrote. It has gone through Ordinance Review, Planning Commission, Engineering
and Stormwater Retention people. If there are any questions on it, I would be happy to explain
the changes. Basically in a nutshell we have shrunk our parking lots so they are more drainage-
friendly let's call it so that we have more greenspace and they are not requiring so much
pavement and that's all about water quality and hopefully that will pan out to give us more
greenspace and landscaping for future developments.
Council President Buckholtz asked, is this something you wanted to leave on three reads like we
do the other items from Ordinance Review?
Mr. Marrelli replied, I have no pending projects so I have no problem with three reads.
Regarding the joint use driveways, Mr. Saponaro asked, just to clarify, are you talking about a
property owner that may have a driveway that we won't ask them to access to someone else's
driveway for a business?
Mr. Marrelli replied, that would be an interconnect between two properties if they would choose
to do that. We have that situation at the Hilton Garden Inn with the neighbor to the north because
they share parking at times.
