Regular Council Meeting Minutes
11-15-10
Page 7
FINANCE - Ron Wvnne
Mr. Wynne mentioned, I am working with the Department Heads. We are in the midst of starting
to do our year-end wrap up and planning to close out the year and then also start the process of
putting together our budget for 2011.
POLICE - Chief Dearden
Chief Dearden reported that we had a very successful and well-attended Open House on
Saturday down at the police facility. We are taking every step that we can to try and assure that
our operations can be switched over to that new facility by the end of this week.
Council President Buckholtz thanked Chief Dearden. That was a very flattering picture in the
paper of you.
PARKS & RECREATION - Bill Thomas
Mr. Thomas reported that in September, I asked the residents present at Council if they received
their Fall Parks and Recreation brochure. Now it's time because we are in November, did
everyone get their Winter Parks and Recreation brochure? You are all nodding you got it.
ARCHITECT - Ron Dinardo
There was no report.
HUMAN SERVICES - Eunice Kalina
Mrs. Kalina reported that the deadline for residents to send back their surveys regarding
transportation was October 30''. So far we have 48 responses. 41 seemed very interested in
having transportation and would be willing to pay a nominal charge. One person said they
would not be willing to pay a charge. Six did not answer that particular question. I guess they
had no need for the transportation. Most people were concerned with using transportation for
doctor and dental appointments, that kind of thing. So, I think we need to explore that a little
further. We're working on our holiday party, for the Seniors which would be Saturday, December
11th. We had a good response from the people who wanted to be entered in the leaf raking
drawing which we had. We had some good response from volunteers. Unfortunately a lot of
lawns were supposed to be raked a week ago Saturday and they were under snow, so they didn't
get done, but we're still working at it and I am happy to hear that the Service Department will be
picking up leaves for another three weeks so maybe we will get some more people taken care of.
On the snow removal, we have about 100 people who have opted out of the program and we .
have gotten about 220-225 who are on the program.
PLANNING DEVELOPMENT - Ted Esborn
There was no report.
