Regular Council Meeting Minutes <br />11-15-10 <br />Page 9 <br />Finance Committee - Mr. Saponaro reported that the Finance Committee met on November <br />8t as well as this evening. There were 7 items on the agenda. Six of them were recommended <br />for approval which were expenditure or acknowledge receipt type of items and the first reading <br />of Ordinance 2010-40 was also recommended for approval. <br />Historical Society - Mrs. Mills reported that our last meeting was on November 10d. At that <br />time we had our turkey raffle and a program on buttons. The four door prizes for the turkey <br />raffle were won by residents which shows that they bought their tickets probably when they <br />came in to vote which was a nice thing. We encourage everyone when we do have things like <br />that to participate and help us. Our holiday buffet will be on December 8t" starting at 6:30. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - There was no report. <br />M.A.R.C. - Dr. Parker reported that M.A.R.C. held their meeting on November 4t'. The <br />Treasurer's report shows a balance of $11,613.84 as of October 31St. The Art Show was <br />successful and wrapped up on October 31St as well. There was some discussion regarding the <br />Wildcat Foundation. The meeting was adjourned at 7:45. The next meeting will be December 2nd <br />at 7:00 p.m. <br />Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Saponaro was not able to attend the meeting. He deferred <br />over to John except on the very first item which was the Beautification Ordinance. The <br />Beautification Committee had been discussing the Ordinance throughout the.year because the <br />Ordinance was not complete. There were changes that needed to be made. The Beautification <br />Committee passed a motion and recommended to remove the Beautification Committee from the <br />Ordinance as we have other Committees that are not Ordinance-created Committees. That went <br />over to Ordinance Review. Mr. Marrelli reported, it was ta.bled for further discussion. Mr. <br />Marrelli further reported that there were several other items. The second item we discussed was <br />regulating Internet Cafes in the event that somebody wants to open one here. We were able to <br />come to the conclusion that we would maintain our conditional use permit process for those as <br />well as any other conditional use. We discussed developing zoning standards for wind turbines in <br />case somebody wants to install a wind turbine somewhere. We discussed clarifications to the <br />residential accessory buildings statute that is going to be on the books. We went through the off- <br />street parking ordinance that you have in front of you tonight. <br />Planning and Zoning - Mr. Marquardt reported that Planning and Zoning met on November 1St <br />The only item on the agenda was the off-street parking which was presented several times now. <br />Recreation Board = Mr. Marrie reported that the Recreation Board met on the 20th of October. <br />The items covered were the Teen Halloween Party for the Middle School. It was extremely <br />successful. 320 students attend it which is a big, big number. The Halloween Coloring Contest <br />was also successful. There were 23 windows that were done by the kids. Yours Truly happened <br />to be first place. The Barber Shop was second. With regard to the basketball program, Sean tells <br />me that we've got 8 teams in the Men's 18 and Over League. The boys' registration is going on <br />now. The girls' league is not going too fast or too high. Their numbers are way down. The boys' <br />registration is going a little stronger. We also discussed a fundraising idea that would help offset
