Council Meeting - 7/18/05
Page 5
Mr. Marcie stated the backyard was not flooded with lights as it had been reported; they went
there and it was dark as it could be. He stated there are some lights that flood over to the lot
between Ms. Goodin's and her uncle's lot; the back yard is not lit up like a Christmas tree,
because we went there. They are going to adjust them and if you stood in front of her house and
looked over at the lighting, you could see that there were three or four that were beaming right at
her, but they are going to be adjusted; they have agreed to do it.
Mr. Buckholtz appreciated the follow-up from both Mr. Thomas and Mr. Marcie.
ST~IDJIN~ ~C)11~IlV~T'.1`EE REP:t`)RTS
Activities Committee"-Mayor Rinker stated he hoped everyone had fun for the 4~' of July
celebration on the 2"d; we got some very good feedback. Mr. Ralph Vara does a lot, lining up the
fireworks and this was an especially capable crew. It has been two or three years since we have
had as lengthy a display that we got and it was very nice. Mayor Rinker stated the Sizzler was
coYrung up.
Mrs. Mills stated the concerts were coming up.
Mayor Rinker stated that every Thursday, we have a Concert on the Green, weather permitting;
we've already had one rain date, that is going to be lined up. Again, these are always very
popular. If you haven't made one of them, they really are fun. We have volunteers covering the
concessions. It is really a nice community effort.
Architectural Review Board - Mr. Marrelli stated that at the last meeting of the Architectural
Review Board, we approved an alteration to 900 Worton Park, the Mayor's neighbor; and we
also approved the materials and colors for the SOM Port Cluster Dome Development, which will
be starting shortly.
Board of Appeals - Mr. Marrelli said no report and no comments.
Mayor Rinker stated only because you had mentioned his neighbor, this is John Klein; he
remembers the owner prior to him, started poking around and there were some questions then
about addressing some of the site issues, but the long story short is, the size of the addition will
be very good for the property. When you look around Mayfield Village, we started this with Mr.
Samac and I know Mr. Marrelli also feels it is very exciting that the number of younger families
are buying these properties. It is not just that they are maintaining them and improving them,
they are adding on to them because they see the value in the kinds of properties that we have. To
him, it is just very gratifying and encouraging to see the kind of reinvestment strategies that we
see the families putting into these properties.
Mr. Marrelli stated that when the minutes come out for the Architectural Review Board, you will
see that he made those statements of looking in many suburbs and finding the value in Mayfield
Village, especially the Worton Park area. Mr. Marrelli stated he thinks that Mr. Klein and his
family will be here, probably for life, a young couple.
