Council Meeting - 7/18/05
Page 6
Mayor Rinker has also seen the same thing on Glenview and Seneca streets. Every time he goes
down these streets, he sees new work going on.
Mr. Buckholtz stated that was the same thing on Hickory Hill- and Zorn, they weren't supposed
to do a second floor and they overrode it and did the second floor; there is no reason not to.
Cemetery - Mr. Saponazo stated no report.
Mrs. Mills stated at the Cemetery, the students are working there weeding.
Mr. Saponaro adjusted, there is a report.
Citizen's Advisory Boazd - Mr. Saponaro stated there was a final meeting for the summer on
June 27~'. The big thing that the committee wants, they want a Citizen's Night in the fall before
the election. They want an opportunity to speak to the candidates. Mr. Saponaro stated they all
feel it is just a good thing to have and revisit any issues that may be on their minds.
Mayor Rinker told Mr. Saponaro to go ahead and book a place and we will provide any
resources, just take the ball and run with it.
Mr. Saponaro stated they are suggesting that we start having Ward meetings, versus
homeowner's associations meetings, because we have tried many times to create new
homeowner's associations, where we don't have any. There is not an interest in that, they just
don't want to put the work into it. We do have issues that come up. Call it Wards, or however
we want to section it is fine, they are suggesting that we have meetings at least twice a year so
that someone from Ward 1, who is not represented by a Homeowner's organization can come
and talk to Council, whoever is showing up, and present issues.
Mayor Rinker asked Council to consider the position of a new Council Clerk's position to carry
out these duties, Council administrative duties.
Mr. Buckholtz stated he was trying to blend azeas, where there is no homeowner's association
and this idea is good.
Mr. Saponaro stated the Wards are already in place for us. Council-At-Large would most likely
show up because that is what we represent. Everyone can show up, it is all inclusive. Mr.
Saponaro stated the big issue again, and always will be is litter control on the Musca Property.
Citizen's Advisory is very protective of the Village. They do not like the fact that there is litter
all over the place, and one of the biggest offenders is the Musca property.
Mr. Marrie stated that home across Sandalwood is also a problem.
Mr. Saponaro stated that home is being trashed because of the Musca Property, not because of
their own doing. Even though we are in construction and have been for some time, we need a
better means to police property to maintain the aesthetic look of the Village. You walk down the
street with a shopping bag and you could fill it within the first fifteen minutes, that's pretty bad.
