DRAFT
Regular Council Meeting
9/26/05
Page 2
Judge Bozza again thanked us so much and indicated that she will be on the ballot, probably the last
one on the ballot because there is only one judge running and that is her. She reiterated her thanks
and also thanked the Police Department for not only the personal service she has received as a
resident of the Village but for the cooperation and ideas and cooperation that we have received to
help us make a lot of the changes that we have made quickly.
Mayor Rinker relayed to Judge Bozza our thanks, indicating that she has not only watched the
bottom line, but has raised the bar very high. Mayor Rinker added that he thinks the fact that she is
n,nning unopposed definitely is proof of that fact. She has done a wonderful job. We appreciate it.
We get nothing but positive feedback and so thank you.
Mr. Buckholtz indicated that if it is alphabetical, she won't be the last one because he is also
unopposed, but he is B-u-c-k and she is B-o-z-z-a. Mr. Bizckholtz thanked Judge Bozza for being a
great resident and serving on the 20/20 Committee. Mr. Buckholtz had the opportunity to be a juror
in her Court and that is an experience, as if it is reality t.v., reality happening. Mr. Buckholtz
complimented Judge Bozza, adding that she really knows how to work with people. It was a true
experience and it was great.
Regular Council Meeting - August 22, 2005
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to approve the minutes.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Minutes Approved
COMMENTS FROM MAYOR RINKER
Mayor Rinker stated that a number of us have been very aware of how we have had two firemen
working quite effectively first in response to Katrina and he suspects there will also be some
residual work dealing with Rita. We have also requested and had wonderful support from the
community for a matching effort on our part for the Red Cross relief to the victims, if you will,
the people who have suffered through the ravages of two hurricanes, but specifically we have
looked at Katrina. .
Mayor Rinker said that he does not know if everyone saw this in their packets, but he believes it
was distributed and he thought it was rather interesting. The Ohio Municipal League has
provided us with some initial information about the potential for adopting or building a sister
city relationship. Some of the feedback we have gotten intermittently from people is whether or
not we might be able to focus the dollars that we are able to generate in some special way.
Mayor Rinker's response to that has been that the Katrina Fund is very specific, it will
definitely go for relief or aid to people in that area. This latest missive struck Mayor Rinker as
