Safety and Service Committee Meeting Minutes
December 5, 2005
Page 2
Mrs. Cinco asked where A&G's territory was located. Mrs. Betsa noted
that the callers resided on Bonnieview, Sandalwood, Hanover, Beechhill,
Northboro, Walnut Drive, Echo Drive, Butternut, Wilson Mills, Derby and
S.O.M.
Mr. Metzung indicated that we should give them an ultimatum. Mr. Marrie
stated that what bothers him is that he thinks the Village has done a great thing
providing the seniors with an option one way or another to help them with snow
removal. He thinks it is a wonderful thing. This guy is making the Village look
bad. He came a day late to Mr. Marrie's house at 10:00 at night. He is afraid that
A&G is way over his head. Mr. Marrie will reconsider having A&G next year if
this continues. He needs to stop treating people badly as well.
Mrs. Mills asked if this was the company that did not come in to bid in
time. Mrs. Betsa indicated that this was one of the companies who submitted
their bid in time, guaranteed four trucks and to arrive prior to_ 7:00 a.m. and if
warranted again prior to 5:00 p.m. Residents also were calling to advise that their
driveways are being plowed, but the snow is being pushed right up against their
garage and they can't get their cars out of the garage. Jeff Thomas called Pete
from A&G to follow up.
Mr. Metzung asked if Jeff has gone out and verified the complaints. Due to
the weather and amount of calls being received in the office, everyone was
manning the phones. Mr. Metzung suggested that residents' complaints be
verified in this case. Mr. Marne indicated that he went over to the houses of the
two that called him. Theirs was untouched and had 8-10 inches. One of the
residents called the service department. Chief Dearden asked if Scarso called too.
Mrs. Betsa verified that she spoke with Mrs. Scarso.
Mrs. Betsa further indicated that when the calls started to come in on
Friday, a log was not being maintained. However, a noticeable pattern was
evident and everyone who took a call started to write it down in a log with the
date, time, complaint and company. All complaints with the exception of one was
with A&G.
Mr. Marrie asked if Evans and Smith indicated their desire to cancel. Mrs.
Betsa confirmed.that Evans cancelled. She called X-treme after dispatch talked to
A&G who assured they would be out to clear the snow off of her driveway. A&G
never showed up. X-treme came within minutes..She recontracted with X-treme.
