Regular Council Minutes 2-21-OS Page 5 Hopefully, the folks from the committee will be at the meeting tomorrow night. They also discussed having a Candidate's Night for the Fall elections. We didn't have that the last election and they felt it would be a good thing to have. Everyone got the minutes. I won't read through everything but I will tell you that we were interested in finding out if the Village still had a fingerprint program for the kids. I did check with Chief Dearden; there is a fingerprint program. Contact Dispatch or the Detective Bureau; you can bring your children as long as you verify that you are a citizen of our Village, you can go in there and get fingerprinted. Big discussion regarding the Musca property in terms of the parking. As an update, I did talk with Joe Diemert and talked with John after the last meeting. We are going to work with the property owner to help try to rectify the situation but it is more difficult to handle at this point. Mayor Rinker said there was an article in the Sun Messenger about 2020 center of town project which prompted a call from Jeff Shibley. I met with his brother and Jeff about a week ago. They are primary tenants for Musca but they have some very interesting ideas. They would like to reinvest in that site in terms of the front fascade of the building; lighting, landscaping and in that context we have a possible solution. We are in the very, very early stages but looking at parking as one aspect of this. So we are going to see if there is a way we can kill a couple of birds with one stone. It is very early stages but the fact that they are very interested and they want to put some dollars into this and make more of a presence, I thought it was good timing; good news. Mr. Saponaro said great. We talked about a beautification program that it is going to be handled through the Activities Committee. So I have asked anyone from our group that is interested in being involved with this project to contact Donna. Our intent is not to burden the Activities Committee but to share these folks with them in order to get this off the ground and running. So we will coordinate that with Donna. We talked about the sidewalk project, Drainage & Infrastructure and there were complaints about the snow plowing (we sent those complaints to Donna). Art Goldstein is supposed to check with you, Chief Dearden, regarding the timing of the light at Raleigh and Wilson Mills. If he hasn't, I will make sure that he gets in contact with you and the residents there have some issues. We also talked about the street signage which we had discussed at our meeting regarding being consistent and that is about it. Our next meeting is this Monday, February 28 at 7 p.m. in the Conference Room. Comanission on Aging - Mrs. Mills read the report from Humans Services Director, Eunice Kalina, attached. Mrs. Mills said I have a copy of this Resolution; I don't know if you have seen it. Also, Irene Kay who is very active in the AARP Association sent a request to Donna so if you think that we should support this Resolution then I think we should have it at our next Council meeting. Mrs. Roman said it was included in the packet. Mrs. Mills clarified the resolution from Irene Kay and Eunice are both the saine resolution. Council President Buckholtz said we will have it on the Caucus Agenda [for March.] Drainage & Infrastructure - Mrs. Cinco said the committee met Februaty 10 and we are really moving along quite nicely.
