Regular Council Minutes
2-21-OS
Page 6
Department. We were emailed today one of our main projects to get started on all of them is we
have resident letters, easement and maintenance agreements and Drainage & Infrastructure
requests that will be mailed out to all our residents that have sent in letters requesting assistance
in the program. We are meeting tomorrow to go over these. We want to make sure that the
Mayor looks at them and approves them (and whoever else needs to) and we will try to figure out
a way-a point system to evaluate requests. We are meeting more often so we can really get this
off the ground come Spring. The financial assistance forms-I think Mentor has them, Doug; (is
that correct?) and we are going to get - Tom Marsalis was going to bring in financial assistance
forms in case there are residents that can't afford their 10% of the project cost. We will see how
we handle this; we will see what they look like. I know that some people will be very reluctant to
do that. Again, hopefully, it would be minimal-their 10% anyways. We really feel that people
have to own part of the project so that they maintain and keep it up. So we will keep you advised
on how it is going and get all these forms to everyone to look over also.
Council President Buckholtz said if you could include copies of the letters with the minutes; that
would be great for Council.
Mrs. Cinco said either that or when we go over them tomorrow we will get them out to everyone
in case there are changes.
Safetv and Service - Mrs. Cinco said Safety & Service met on February 7. Most of the items were
referred to the Finance Committee and are on the agenda tonight. (She read the agenda items.) We
referred the gator proj ect to later in the Spring. [The other items are on tonight's agenda.]
Finance Commitfee - Mrs. Mills said the Finance committee met this evening; 22 items were
discussed. If you refer to your program on the inside, all of them were approved. For "Letter I"
we chose the Fuller Furniture and Carpet Company for $9,709.75. For Letter K we chose the
Duane E. Davis Company for $16,963.00. For Letter R, we chose Danka not to exceed $23,000
for the copy machine. The rest we can discuss as we go through.
Mr. Marquardt said I see there are a number of things for the Civic Center. I was wondering if
the Finance Committee is tracking the commitments against the original estimates for the Civic
Center?
Mrs. Mills asked Mr. Marrelli.
Mr. Marrelli said yes we are; we are on budget and on time.
Mrs. Mills said as we get to that John will be able to explain exactly what is happening because
he is doing an excellent job in tracking the prices and getting the quotes and bids and everything
else as necessary.
Historical Societv - Mrs. Mills said tomorrow the ladies will be schooling the children from the
fourth grade at Center School. They will be having their annual classes of development of this
area historically; also the library is still working with the Euclid Creek Watershed for
information.
,
Hillcrest Council of Councils - There was no report.
