Regular Council Meeting
3/21/OS
Page 4
Mr. Saponaro said of the folks that we sent the applications out to, 25 have responded back.
Safetv and Service - Mrs. Cinco said Safety & Service met on the 21". At that time we discussed
the gator; that [item] was on Finance tonight and is on the agenda. We had quite a discussion on
the toters.
Mr. Metzung said they are here. [Two sample toters were available for "everyone to look at.]
Mrs. Cinco said 2 sizes will be available to residents. Some of us don't have room in our
garages. Those residents that have been using them love them. We want to encourage residents
to keep them hidden from view; preferably in the garage. We will be looking over the
ordinances. Doug, how do residents go about getting them?
Mr. Metzung said I have to secure the specifications. It is $60,000 and we have to go to bid.
They come in quantities of 300 [for a truckload.]
Mrs. Cinco suggested doing half at once.
Mr. Metzung said we will order 300 at a time.
Finance Committee -1VIrs. Mills said Finance met this evening. We had 18 items on the
agenda. We [already] talked about Fairmount Center being at our [Apri14] Caucus meeting. We
have a change in the amount in the Southeast Polaris expenditure-to $9,996. The rest of the
items were all recommended for approval with no changes.
Historical Societv - Mrs. Mills said plans are in place to record the slide show of Mayfield
Township presented by the Bicentennial in 1976. We will preserve and frame an 1854 Cuyahoga
County map unique'to this area. This is the map that I spoke about last time that the Cleveland
Public Library and the Western Reserve Historical Society is very interested in having. They
would like to have the original but we will not give it up. We are going to have it repaired
because there is damage to the top of the map. Then we will make copies. The question being, if
we do this, would you like a copy to be liung in the Civic Center?
Mayor Rinker said yes. I suggest we get a few copies. We may find that the school may be
interested, etc.
Mrs. Mills said I indicated the Village may be willing to assist us with the cost of repairing. Our
1880 carpet is being cleaned. Historic grounds are being cleaned up as weather permits. A small
tour conducted last week took great reviews. We have a great source in the Historical Society
and they expect to do more towards the spring. Our next featured speaker will be on the
Underground Railroad. We had a gentleman come in full dress for the Civil War and it was very
interesting.
M.A.R.C. - Dr. Paxker was not present. Mr. Thomas said he did not attend but he understands it
was a short meeting and the next meeting will be Apri17.

Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Marquardt said there was no meeting.
