Regular Council Meeting
3/21/OS
Page 7
Third Reading of Ordinance No. 2005-04, entitled; "An emergency ordinance authorizing and
directing the Mayor to enter into a license agreement with the Mayfield Investments, Inc. as and for
the right to construct, maintain, patrol and use certain property for an all purpose non-vehicular
public hiking and biking trail and related purposes." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as
a Whole. (First Reading 1/24/05; Second Reading 2/21/05)
Council President Buckholtz noted correction to agenda (agenda had read Second Reading
instead of third.
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 2005-04.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion.
There were no comments.
Roll Call: AYES: Mr. Buckholtz, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Marrie, Mrs. Mills, Mr. Saponaro
NAYS: Mr. Marquardt
Motion Carried
Ordinance Enacted
OPEN PORTION - 3 minute limit imposed by Chair. Those who wish to speak must first state
their name and address. This open portion is limited to discussion pertaining to the items under
"New Business" only.
There were no comments.
• Claims Service Center - Conditional Use Permit - 651 Beta Drive -
(P&Z approved at 3/7/05 meeting)
Council President Buckholtz said Planning and Zoning approved this at their March 7, 2005
meeting.
Mr. Marrelli said yes, this is for a Claims Service Center at 651 Beta Drive; this requires a
conditional use permit. This service and inspection facility was approved at the Planning &
Zoning meeting and requires Council confirmation.
Mr. Marrie, seconded.by Mr. Saponaro made a motion to grant a conditional use permit at
651 Beta Drive for a Claims Service Center.
Mr. Marquardt said with all due respect to Progressive as our great benefactor, I do not
believe that this facility fits with the vision that we have for Beta Drive. In the words of
Progressive's Director of Property, Kevin McGrath, he said light industrial, light
manufacturing is the appropriate zoning for this we're finding. I think that accurately
describes what Beta is now but I don't think that is the vision that we have for Beta so I am
not for this Special Use Permit.
