Regular Council Meeting
4-18-OS
Page 4
Mr. Marrie said the bridge over River Road on River Road.
Council President Buckholtz asked, do you have any idea-even without the preconstruction
meeting, how long the road will remain closed? Mr. Cappello said if they start it in June, there are winter limitations on it so they can't have the
road closed during the winter. That was a stipulation that Chief Mohr had requested and they
agreed. They would have to stabilize it and leave it open during the winter. If they needed to
finish, they would do it next spring.
Council President Buckholtz said a significant length of time, let's call it but let us know about
the preconstruction meeting.
FIRE - Chief Mohr said we have ordered the gator that was approved last month. Delivery
should be within 3 weeks. We have also done our homework and we didn't execute the purchase
order as approved by Council for the snuffer unit out of Canada which is the firefighting high
expansion foam unit. We found a unit that is approximately $1,000 or more cheaper out of Texas
so we are going to come back at Safety Committee and go through the process again and see if
Council will approve that for a savings to the community.
FINANCE - Mr. Brett said the Highland Road Sanitary Sewer Small Government Grant was
submitted last week. We amended that grant to make it more likely to succeed. The strategy this
year is to do Highland Road and one portion of Eastgate or Meadowood so at some point soon
we need to have a meeting with the people affected and Mr. Cappello and I will be sitting down
with the Sanitary Engineer to see if we can coordinate the reconstruction of the pump area as
well as the joint project for Issue Two in the Fall. Mr. Ralph has said that he will work with us
closely to get some Army Corps of Engineer grants for other sewers in the community.
Council President Buckholtz said if I can ask when you have that meeting and you are ready and
can let me know for Sewer Liaison so we can create a Sewer Liaison meeting with the folks over
there. I happened to speak with Rick Novickis today on another matter and he is always ready to
come out and lead the charge.
PARK,S & REC1aEATION - Mr. Thomas said as a result of the Parks & Recreation Department
moving over to the Civic Center, we took the opportunityof spring cleaning. We threw out about
500 pounds of paper and we will have empty desks.
STANDIlVG COMMITTEE REPORTS:

t
Activities Committee - Mrs. Roman said the Activities committee has not met although they are
volunteering for the Pancake Breakfast and we are looking for others to volunteer so if you
haven't seen us yet call us, or we will be calling you.
