Regular Council Meeting <br />1-22-01 <br />Page 9 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />• A motion to authorize an egpenditure in the amount of $4,868.80 to Perousek <br />Engineering Co. for repair and parts of watchkeepers lighting control system. <br />Council President Marquardt said he thought this was for a modem. <br />Mr. Ilacqua said it is a modem that controls the lights being turned on and off at the pool which was <br />struck by lightning. <br />Mr. Busa, seconded by Mrs. Mi11s, made a motion to authorize an expenditure in the amount of <br />$4,868.80 to Perousek Engineering Co. <br />Mrs. Mills asked if lightning rods are going to be considered. <br />Mr. Brett said Chief Mohr is looking into that. <br />Chief 1Vlohr said this was the second time it was struck. He will get bids. <br />Mr. Samac said he is meeting with an engineer that specialized in that type of work on Monday and <br />will ask Chief Mohr to attend. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Expenditure Authorized <br />• A motion to authorize an expendature in the amount of $8,000 to UItS for preliminary <br />consulting on the Upper 40 project <br />Mr. Ilacqua said this is the first step we must take to address the Upper 40. What the project will <br />ultimately cost and how it will be financed are still questions at this point. We are taking the right <br />steps here and with the application of Issue II funding. <br />Mayor Rinker said it took some time for this to come back to us. This was broached again by Gates <br />Mills and the Metroparks. It is a sensitive issue because we are talking about doumstream property <br />owners and cotnmunities. The fact that there is a partnering effort is very positive. It is something <br />that we cannot ignore. He suspects in the long run we will find good ways to handle this <br />incrementally as well as spreading the cost around to more than just the one entity--Mayfield <br />Village. <br />Dr. Parker asked if the Village is sharing the cost with Gates Mills. <br />Mayor Rinker said the short answer is yes. URS is looking at the different methodologies, and <br />locations and how it could be phased so it shares fhe responsibility equita.bly. <br />Dr. Parker asked abaut the $8,000.
