Cinco, made a motion to authorize an expenditure in the amount of <br />$86,726.44 to the Bureau of Workman's Compensation. <br />Council President Marquardt asked if there were any comments. <br />There were no cornments. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />IVlotion Canied <br />Expenditure Authorized <br />• S.O.M. Widening: <br />Council President Marquardt said the next 4 issues are options on S.O.M. Center Road <br />Widening. Option #4 was the one that was recommended by the S.O.M. Center Road <br />Widening Committee. Any one of these if it passes takes the other 3 off. <br />Mr. Busa, seconded by Mrs. Mills; made a motion to authorize Option #4: <br />Oution #4: Tv modify the typical cross section (pull in bike path, taper towards roadway <br />curb at both sides of Aintree North entranceway.) The existing fence arid entrance wa11 <br />would be outside of any new right-of-way purcha.ses and not be removed as part of the <br />project. All costs would be O.D.O.T. eligible. Temporary work easements along the bike <br />path which would pravide patentially the necessary room for construction of the <br />improvements. The temporary work easements would provide for the removal and <br />reconstruction of the existing fences. All costs would be O.D.O.T. eligible if the fences <br />were replaced in kind. The Village would incur any expense to modify or upgrade the <br />fencing scheme. Note: This option, #4, was recommended by the S.O.M. Center Road <br />Widening Committee at its January 30, 2001 meeting. <br />Council President Marquardt asked if there were any comments for discussion and asked Mr. Ilacqua <br />to give brief explanation on that. <br />Mr. Ilacqua said we looked at the design of this intersection at length and basically every option <br />available. We feel this addresses the needs of that intersection in the most appropriate way to not <br />only protect the Village and be cost effective but to address the needs of the residents as well. We <br />feel that by employing work easements and fitting in the bike path between the existing brick fagade <br />and then going back and working with the home owners to modify or perhaps upgrade the fencing <br />scheme there--we would not be oniy upgrading the look of the entranceway, we would be building a
