Regular Council Meeting
7-9-01
Page 4
Mr. Samac said there will be a Workshop on July 19.
Recreation Board - Mr. Thomas said they met on June 20. Board members toured Parkview Pool
and discussed: how to create better air circulation in the Concession Stand and a healthier menu,
repainting of the pool and issues of non-residents using Parkview Pool. They also discussed the
development of the area south of the pool. The Recreation Board will not meet during July and
August. The next meeting will be held September 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the Community Room.
Sewer Liaison Committee - There was no report.
Special Committee Renorts:
S.O.M. Center Road Widening Committee - Mr. Ilacqua said the Committee recommends using
the existing utility poles for the lighting of S.O.M. Center Road. There is a letter of July 15 from
Mike Burgess of URS Corporation that details the way in which the project has been negatively
impacted on a time basis vis-a-vis the final approval of the environmental documents that we
have submitted to the State of Ohio. The start of the project will more than likely be pushed
through the first quarter of next year. The individual that has been reviewing he documents has
been submitting questions to URS Corp. for review was changed by the State which thus
triggered another set of questions. It's really out of our hands and is no fault of URS Corp. or the
Committee. Everything has been done and recommendations made on time; we are just waiting
for the State to sign off on these documents.
Dr. Parker asked if this will have any impact on our overall cost.
Mr. Ilacqua said it will not impact the cost or the release of the funds to the Village. Our next
meeting will be August 30.
OLD Bi7SIN
ESS
Second Readin2 of Resolution No. 2001-03, entitled; "An emergency resolution authorizing the
Village of Mayfield to share in the expense with other Hillcrest area municipalities for the
purpose of an armored transport vehicle for the purpose of an armored transport vehicle to be
used by the Suburban Police Anti-Crime Network (SPAN)." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and
Council as a Whole. (First Reading 6-18-01)
Council President Marquardt said this will remain on 2nd reading.
Dr. Parker asked if there was anything new as far as other communities; any updates.
Mayor Rinker said he is not aware that there has been any change.
Dr. Parker questioned if two communities had approved it.
Mayor Rinker said Mayfield Heights and Richmond Heights have approved it.
