Regular Council Meeting
8-13-01
Page 4
site where the old Dazzler's building was--immediately adjacent to the TrueNorth gas station on
Wilson Mills.
Cemeterv - Mrs. Mills said Council received information in their packets that they are going to
proceed with a picket fence for the front line of the cemetery. We were rejected by the Ohio
Bicentennial Committee. The price for the fencing will be $5,600 which we do have the money
in the Mayfield Cemetery Fund. She is waiting for the other 2 communities to send back the
requisitions. When it is signed, we can get started. The Garden Club has been working at the
Cemetery about once a week--doing weeding, etc.
Citizen's Advisory Board - Mrs. Cinco said there was no report.
Commission on A ing - Mr. Busa asked Mrs. Cinco to read the report. Mrs. Cinco read the
report from Mrs. Kalina, attached.
Drainage & Infrastructure - Mrs. Cinco said the Drainage & Infrastructure Committee has not
had a need to meet. She asked how far we are on the other project.
Mr. Cappello said Hickory Hill plans are out to bid. They will open this Friday.
Mrs. Cinco said we need to schedule a Drainage & Infrastructure meeting for the first Thursday.
She will be in touch with committee members as to the time.
Safety and Service - Mrs. Cinco said they met this evening. Every item on the agenda was
discussed at the Caucus so she will not be submitting any minutes. The Committee approved the
pager units; senior snow removal was discussed; the monitors and defibrillators were approved
and recommended for approval; the brush grinding was discussed.
Finance Committee - Mr. Ilacqua said he will report in Dr. Parker's absence. The committee
discussed and recommended for approval: Agenda item numbers 1, 2, 3--with the caveat that
Mr. Thomas provide the Finance Committee with the dollars that the softball league took in and
what they paid out--we understand it is a wash. Agenda item numbers 4 and 5 were discussed
and approved. Item #6 was discussed and not recommended for approval. The Committee
suggests that we go to bid to touch the pool up for a much smaller amount. The Committee
deferred action on item #7. Item numbers 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 were discussed and recommended
for approval.
Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mrs. Cinco said there was no report.
Historical Society - Mrs. Mills said work is continuing in the schoolhouse. Scenic views were
put in the windows. The schoolroom and log cabin will not be ready for viewing as anticipated
early on. Two day camp groups visited for 2 hours on 2 days to view the Historical House and
the quilt room. They were studying an 18401ife style. Plans are progressing for the Ice Cream
Social on September 12 and an open house with a new display of American war memorabilia.
The raffle quilt winner will be picked at this time. Work will begin on the installation of our new
sanitary sewer connection the week after the Ice Cream Social.
