Regular Council Meeting
9-24-01
Page 4
expenditures for the softball leagues; this expenditure is a wash; it will come out of team
entrance fees), 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8(this item was discussed at length and recommended), 9(our
Finance Director will have more on this later in the meeting), 10.
Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mrs. Cinco said there is no report but there is a meeting this
Saturday at 9:30 and NOPEC will be there answering questions.
Historical Societv - Mrs. Mills said they will have their military uniform display up until
November 15. It's very interesting and if you have time, you should see it. Our next open house
to see this will be on November 15.
M.A.R.C. - Mrs. Cinco said M.A.R.C. met September 6. The ice hockey enrollment is down but
they are expecting it to come up again (otherwise we will combine groups.) We are sharing a
profit of $2,500 from last year's program. Our Art Show is underway this weekend and will be
up all month in the Mayfield Library. The Punt, Pass and Kick competition was held last
Saturday. She asked if Mr. Thomas had any results on that. (No.) Mrs. Cinco said the other
things were in our Mayfield Village activity program.
Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Busa said there was no report.
Planning and Zoning - Mrs. Mills said we met August 16. We entered into a discussion about
new home occupations, fence ordinance amendment and garbage and rubbish amendments. Mrs.
Mills said she would like to bring this item to the next Council Caucus so the changes can be
discussed. The other item on the agenda was the property at 6678 and 6688 Wilson Mills (the
Deacon property) and Planning and Zoning recommended that they go forward with this because
we felt that they met all criteria necessary. The Deacons are in the audience if anyone has any
questions. I think they should be given permission to go forward.
Recreation Board - Mr. Buckholtz said he was unable to attend the meeting on Wednesday,
September 19 as it was held on the Jewish holiday. He has a report: the Recreation Board
reviewed summer programs. Recreation Board member and Pool Manager Dave Perout
distributed the annual brief of statistics and we have some interesting numbers. Due to the poor
weather in 2000, the actual passes were down in sales in 2001, however, general admission
nearly doubled. Recreation will sponsor the Halloween Party on October 27 from 1-2:30. We
will have some support from High School Key Club members, Boy Scout Troop 705 and
students from St. Francis. The next meeting will be October 17.
Sewer Liaison Committee - Mr. Buckholtz said the Sewer Liaison Committee will hold a
meeting in November. We will review the Issue 2 application and discuss the status of projects
for next year.
SPECIAL COMMITTEE REPORTS
S.O.M. Center Road Widening Committee - Mr. Ilacqua said they met September 17. We
received very good news in that the environmental document has finally been approved by
