12-17-01 <br />Page 4 <br />Safety and Service - Mrs. Cinco said there was no meeting in December. <br />Finance Committee - Dr. Parker said the Committee met this evening. They recommend <br />approval of item #1. Regarding item #2, the Committee felt the amount was a little bit on the <br />high side so approved $5,500. Donna will check with caterers. The Committee recommends <br />approval of items 3, 4, 5, 6, & 7. Dr. Parker asked Mr. Brett if he wanted to add anything <br />regarding Item #7. <br />Mr. Brett said he was open for questions. <br />There were none. <br />Dr. Parker said, regarding Item #8, the low bid was $642,954.56. The bid has been examined by <br />the Engineer's Department, Service Department, and various people; the Committee recommends <br />approval. He asked if Mr. Metzung wanted to add anything. <br />Mr. Metzung said they [the low bidder, DDD Enterprises] were highly recommended by other <br />communities that have used them. <br />Dr. Parker said Committee recommends approval of Items #9 and #10. He asked if Mr. Metzung <br />would like to comment. Mr. Metzung said this is something that Mr. Brett would have to <br />explain. <br />Mr. Brett said in the Council packets, Council received Modification #6. On the first 6 <br />modifications, we were robbing Peter to pay Paul with the understanding that we would be <br />paying Peter back someday. This [Work Order #7] is the modification that pays Peter back. <br />There were changes to Worlc Order #6 as well. They were also in the packet. To keep the <br />bottom line the same, we have been borrowing with the understanding that we would come back <br />and replenish this work item to its original budget; that's what we've done here. He asked Mr. <br />Burgess if he summed this up correctly. <br />Mr. Burgess said yes. The fees for this are paid through your O.D.O.T. grant; they are directly <br />reimbursed by the grant. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mrs. Cinco there was no report. <br />Historical Societv - Mrs. Mills said work is proceeding in the one-room schoolhouse and log <br />cabin. The annual Christmas potluck on December 12 was well attended. The recognition and <br />open house for patrons and volunteers who participated in the historic house preservation was <br />held on December 16. Approximately 50 people attended. <br /> <br />? <br />M.A.R.C. - Mrs. Cinco said M.A.R.C. had a Board meeting on December 5. At that time Mr. <br />Weinberg reported that the Fall programs are wrapping up. There will be some co-op plans with <br />Community Education for the Winter. The Hot Shot contest will be coming up at the High <br />School basketball game during half time. Ice Hockey will have a Spring session for Grades K <br />through 9. Mr. Thomas reported that February 2, 2002 will be MBA at the NBA. There are 171
