Regular Council Meeting
3-20-00
Page 9

¦ A motion to authorize an expenditure in the amount of $555 per month for 48 months to
Pitney Bowes for the lease of a postal meter and addresser equipment
Council President Marquardt asked if there were any comments.
Dr. Parker asked if the representatives from Pitney Bowes, present, would make a presentation.
Stephen Vojvodich, District Sales Manager, introduced himself and Keith Bilczo, Sa1es Executive.
Mr. Vojvodich said he made the recommendation for the particular equipment being considered
based on our needs. This information was explained in the memo Council had received. He and Mr.
Bilczo were here this evening to answer any questions Council may have.
Dr. Parker asked if the Village will own the equipment after the lease and what our costs will be
after tha.t time.
Mr. Vojvodich said the Village will own the equipment but not the meter. At the end of the lease,
we will still have to pay the meter rental and fees for maintenance and software. He estimates it will
be $308.00/month at the end of our lease agreement. With what this equipment would generate in
the way of savings, it could put monies back into the Village.
Dr. Parker asked if it will be updated.
Mr. Vojvodich said the Village's current equipment is 9 years old so he feels safe in saying the new
equipment could still be used after the 4 year lease is up.
Dr. Parker questioned the use of e-stamps.
Mr. Vojvodich said that type of program is excellent for people who would ha.ve 1-2 envelopes per
day. Each one must be put through a laser printer. He explained that they do not see much of this in
a commercial environment. Mr. Buckholtz asked if the equipment could be upgraded during the lease (if there is a situation
where it would be beneficial to us.)
Mr. Vojvodich said yes, absolutely.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Expenditure Authorized
¦ A motion to authorize an expenditure in the amount of $6,700 to Southeast Golf Cart
Company for the purchase of one golf cart for the Police Department
