2-is-oa
Page 8
down in the right-of-way] so he called me probably about 6:30 at night. Tom Olivo and George
Ballash were able to get out there, we had the County out there at the same time. The next day,
Doug was able to work with the County. What I've tried to do is keep track of that kind of thing,
so that's a good idea. We will find as we go along that there will be a variety of issues that crop
up. So I don't want to discourage people from talking to their Council representatives or calling
Departments (if they call Service) but by in large we are trying to at least get some kind of
clearinghouse of information at Village Hall.
OLD BUSINESS
There were no items under Old Business.
OPEN PORTION
Council President Buckholtz asked if there were any comments.
Rick Christian, 510 S.O.M. Center Road: I want to thank Carmen and Bill both; you've been a
lot of help. I have a few concerns, mainly, that this project on S.O.M. widening is going along
now. It is moving forward but things seem to be moving forward in 15 different directions.
You've got C.E.I. out setting poles, you've got people working on a water line, and people cutting
down trees and nobody knows what the next one is doing. It seems that URS is just not on top of
it. There is concern with the road going in for the Goldberg properties, they want the road to go
in across from Metroparks [Metro ParkDrive] according to everything that has been said in the
past, the road has to go in by Hickory Hill due to traffic congestion. Setting the telephone poles,
they moved telephone poles so they are either in the front of my house or in the front of my lot in
the middle of the lot. But when they do change and put a road in at Hickory Hill (which I
imagine is going to happen) now they're going to have to add more poles. I think C.E.I. is
getting a little bit ahead of the game until that decision is made. I wanted to let you know my
concerns about that point. Other than that, there have been some problems but they have been
taken care of.
Council President Buckholtz: You may want to attend the meeting on the 21 St because the
Goldberg property will be on the agenda. That is one of the items that, again, has not been
settled between the developer and the Village.
Mr. Christian: Again, that should've been settled before the poles were moved. Now that
changes the pole spacing on S.O.M. Center. If there's going to be a road going in there, there
will be more poles to be added and poles to be moved.
NEW 'BUSINESS
s A motion to approve the additional committee appointments (per memo to Council
dated 2-8-02)
Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to approve the additional committee
appointments (per memo to Council dated 2-8-02).
