Regular Council Meeting <br />3-18-02 <br />Page 4 <br />can get organizations to put these in and businesses and the high school---to make sure we have <br />them where we need them for the safety of our community. <br />Finance Committee - Mr. Ilacqua said the meeting was convened early this evening at 7:00 p.m. <br />Dr. Parker was absent. The Committee recommended items l, 2, 3, *4, 6, 7, 8, and 9 for <br />approval. The Committee deferred action on Item #5 pending the reference and previous work <br />check of the low bidder. <br />Council President Buckholtz said he thinks there will be a Special Meeting Apri18 to coincide <br />with Caucus (because of the Clean Ohio Fund.) *Item #4 was approved pending [the Village] <br />receiving a letter in writing stating the Metroparks' position. <br />Mr. Ilacqua said a special Finance Committee meeting was convened at 7:30 p.m. [this evening-- <br />re the budget.] Items such as revenue, debt obligations, capital expenditures and fixed costs were <br />discussed with Phil Brett. He thanked Mr. Brett for his work on the budget. <br />Note: The agenda should be corrected to show Mr. Marrie (instead of Mrs. Cinco) to report on <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mr. Marrie said the Hillcrest Council of Councils will meet <br />Saturday, March 23. He will report back after that meeting. <br />Council President Buckholtz said he would like to go to this meeting; he has not been to several <br />of them--but the topic is What is the future of the Hillcrest Council of Councils. He said if <br />anybody is interested, it might be good to attend to show support. <br />Historical Societv - Mrs. Mills said additional shelf units have been added to the storeroom on <br />the second floor of the Historical House. Renovation in the basement pump room is underway. <br />The burlap ceiling has been installed in the log cabin. Framing for the remainder of the ceiling <br />has been installed. A handcrafted table and benches are being made for the log cabin as the first <br />settlers did in 1805. Hickory wood saved from the 1870 dining room ceiling cut from trees in <br />Mayfield is being used for this project. <br />Note: The agenda should be changed to have Mr. Marrie report for M.A.R.C. <br />M.A.R.C. - Mr. Marrie said the Youth Ice Hockey Program begins this Sunday at Gilmour. The <br />Floor Hockey and the MBA concluded this past week with over 310 participants during the <br />season. Clocks were given to the volunteer coaches with 20 or more years of service. <br />Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Marquardt said there was no report. <br />Planning and Zoning - Mr. Marquardt said Planning and Zoning met March 4th. We had a <br />preliminary report about the Goldberg proposal for the building on S.O.M. that they are <br />proposing and the roadway. It is preliminary; it will be discussed at the meeting on Thursday. <br />The preliminary report is that they have reduced the height of the building by one story. The rest
