It turned out well. Thanks to all volunteers, all employees and all the
people who showed up (it looked like they had a good time.)
COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT BUCKHOLTZ
Council President Buckholtz said he has no comments at this time.
DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS
Buildin? - Mr. Samac reported the skilled nursing facility that was due to begin infrastructure
about 2 months ago will be finally starting next week. (There were legal issues to be worked
out; that was the reason for the delay.)
Finance - Mr. Brett said he had originally discussed with Council coming forward with a Public
Hearing and discussion of the tax budget this evening. We've postponed that to July to get the
notice in and will have the budget in by July 20 (when it is due.) I am also starting to work on
the street lighting assessment with the assistance of Council President Buckholtz.
Parks & Recreation - Mr. Thomas said Sports `n More Camp began today. We had 153 campers
at the High School as well as Teen Adventure Camp with 51 campers. The Junior Camp
Program will begin next week. Parkview Pool began the first session of lessons for the learn-to-
swim. We have over 50 children that are taking lessons in the evening. Over 20 girls are
participating in the Girls' Sandy Volleyball at Wiley. We have a one-day clinic with 15 girls -
signed up now at the IVliddle School. The annual community Cedar Point trip will be taking
place June 26 and we will have 175 youth (Sth-8th grade) and about 50 adults attending.
STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS
Activities Committee - Mrs. Roman said the 4'hof July celebration will be coming up on July 6.
Then, we will start the Music on the Green concerts every Thursday. Check the marquee to see
which band will be playing every Thursday.
Architectural Review Board - Mr. Samac said there were no agenda items since our last meeting.
Board of Appeals - Mr. Samac said at our last meeting we heard a case requesting a variance for
a 1,200 square foot garage to be constructed on S.O.M. Center Road. The applicant is before us
appealing the decision of the board to not grant that variance.
Cemeterv - Mrs. Mills said the Garden Club and our summertime employee worked at the
Historical House and the Cemetery today.
Citizen's Advisorv Board - Mrs. Roinan said Mr. Ilacqua asked her to mention the date of the
next CAC meeting: July 10 - 7:15 p.m.
2
