Regular Council Meeting
7-15-02
Page 3
chairs during the summer months on the sidewalk area in front of their premises. We will be
having a meeting tomorrow evening.
Council President Buckholtz asked, do you know your agenda items offliand for tomorrow
evening?
Mr. Samac replied, tomorrow evening's agenda items will be for an area variance for a detached
garage. (I believe that's the extent of it, Mr. Chairman.)
Mrs. Mills said there is something else.
Mr. Samac said, I am sorry--the other item is a 2-car parking variance for the D.O. Summers site.
With that proposed car wash, they are installing some of the land-banked parking that they had--
they are taking a couple of spaces that were land-banked to be utilized for an area where you
could back in your car prior to running it through the car wash and that sort of road to direct
traffic will eliminate a car parking space.
Cemeterv - Mrs. Mills reported, we had a meeting on June 13. We reviewed the financial sheet.
The liability insurance on the Cemetery has been paid. The Committee agreed to compensate
Roger Remec and students from the Horticulture Center for repair on the cemetery markers and
the additional landscape maintenance not to exceed $700 for a period that will be from August
26 to June 9, 2003. Mr. Remec and his students will continue to work at the Cemetery and the
Historical House twice a month--one Monday at no cost and one for the above amount. There is
quite a few Cemetery markers that need to be resubmitted and the ground has to be replaced and
the markers raised, so that's why the $700 amount.
Citizen's Advisorv Board - Mr. Ilacqua said, Citizen's Advisory met last week. I think the main
item of discussion--Eric Jochum was there to discuss the role of the 2020 Committee and what
role Dave Hartt would play in that--the funding issue, determining what that expense may be.
Other issues discussed, and Eric brought this up, I guess there has been more than one sighting of
coyotes and he had called in (I think it was) to a County agency and they basically said if you see
a coyote, spray them with a hose and maybe they'd run away. Well, he had them actually
coming within 10' of his house and his children. So, he was not satisfied with the response from
the County and I don't know what we are doing or can do from a Village perspective so I am
throwing that out there. Maybe we can have that addressed. Also, there was some discussion of
homes that are dilapidated; one of which Bernie has sent notice to. It was a very open-ended
meeting with a lot of items. Those were the highlights.
Council President Buckholtz asked, do we want to talk to our trapper?
Mr. Metzung said yes; we'll call the Animal Warden and see what...
Mr. Ilacqua said, I guess he heard that, I guess, coyotes circulate in a pattern; their pattern just -I
mean--they were coming onto his deck within 10' of his back door. And he called and said what
do I do and they said leave them alone--if you can, spray them with a hose. Who wants to be
