Regular Council Meeting
7-15-02
Page 4
that close to a coyote? Other people have seen them and have spottings, so they are around in
Mayfield Village.
Mrs. Mills and Mrs. Cinco said they have had them in their yards.
Mr. Ilacqua said they will eat a small dog. I wouldn't want my 2 or 3-year-old waddling around
the back yard with coyotes around.
Council President Buckholtz said, if it's any consolation, according to NPR this morning, get
ready for black bears 'cause they're starting to....
Several people made comments amongst themselves.
Commission on A ing - Mrs. Mills read the report from Human Services Director Eunice Kalina,
attached. Mrs. Mills noted that the flu shot program is scheduled very early this year which
should please our elderly residents.
Drainage & Infrastructure - Council President Buckholtz said we pretty much covered Drainage
& Infrastructure. Mrs. Cinco concurred and said, use the minutes from Caucus.
Safety and Service - Mrs. Cinco said Safety & Service discussed the proposal for professional
planning--2020--that we need to be included on such items that affect our Committee. Again,
they gave us criteria and projections for the budget for Drainage & Infrastructure. Concerning
the Planned Residential Development, we again stated the necessity of the safety issues such as
the driveway [road] and that was discussed at length-- if they were going to be dedicated streets
and other issues with planned unit development. Then, we got into the driveway for the car wash
and that was a lengthy discussion.
Finance Committee - Mr. Ilacqua said, the Finance Committee met this evening at 7:20 p.m.
(See agenda attached.) Item #1 was discussed and recommended for approval; Item #2 needed
additional information and was deferred to the floor of Council for Eric's presentation. Items 3
& 4 were discussed and recommended for approval. Regarding Item 95, discussion of
Resolution No. 2002-12 regarding financial assistance for funding a multi-purpose trail, we
checked over on that--I was kind of perplexed to hear that that's actually in front of Finance,
costs have been incurred; we aren't quite sure what those are. I think URS helped us out,
obviously, with the engineering aspects of it. But there was really nothing for us to do because it
was already submitted without any approval. Item #6 was discussed and recommended for
approval. Item #7 was discussed and recommended for approval. Item #8 (an amount not to
exceed $500--please let the record reflect that change, Donna.) That item was discussed and
recoinmended for approval. Item #9 was discussed and recommended for approval. Item #10--
one of the key issues there is being ADA compliant (which I guess we are several years behind
on there.) That would address this. We checked and received additional information which we
did receive on the floor of Council tonight. As well, we were looking for some ballpark costs,
Tom, on that--I mean what are they? Why would that be in front of Finance without any costs
associated with it? Do you know what those ballpark numbers are?
