Regular Council Meeting <br />8-19-02 <br />Page 2 <br />? <br />Mrs. Roman advised the wake is Wednesday, 2-4 and 6-8 at Schulte, Mahon, Murphy, 5252 <br />Mayfield Road. The mass is on Thursday, 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis. <br />COIVIMENTS;FROM COUNCILPRESIDENT Bi1CKHOLTZ , <br />Council President Buckholtz said I have no comments at this time. <br />pEPARTMENT HEAD, REPORTS <br />Service - Mr. Metzung said I ask that the salt bids be added to tonight's agenda. I apologize for <br />not having that in your packet. <br />Fire - Chief Mohr said we had an extensive power failure last evening with 2/3 of the <br />community being out on the northeast end of town. Apparently, they had some bad fuses in the <br />area of Highland and S.O.M. Center Road on those high tension wires there; those 33,000 volt <br />lines. That's why it was out. <br />Mr. Samac said I want to add something to what Chief Mohr said. The power was out and we <br />did have another power failure in our Police Department. The generator refused to start up <br />automatically and it was necessary for it to be started manually (which it finally did.) I will be <br />requesting to go out for bids to replace that unit. <br />? <br />Parks & Recreation - Mr. Thomas said our Fall brochure was mailed. I believe some of our <br />residents are receiving it now. Hopefully, everyone is reading the cover and contents inside. <br />Council President Buckholtz said nice job as usual. <br />STANDIN.G COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Activities Committee - Mrs. Roman said the Committee will be meeting in early September. <br />The next event will be the Tree Lighting Ceremony in December. <br />Architectural Review Board - Mr. Samac said we had a meeting on August 8. Two additions to <br />residential dwellings were approved. <br />Board of Appeals- Mr. Samac said we had no meeting since the case involving Mr. Mills that is <br />before us tonight. We have a meeting scheduled for Wednesday evening. (7:30 p.m.) (A little <br />change from our typical Tuesday regularly scheduled meeting.) <br />Cemeterv - Mr. Marrie said students from the horticulture school is working at the Historical <br />House and will be there until school starts. Mr. Remec and students will begin bimonthly work <br />at the Cemetery the first week in September. Work will consist of repairing of the headstones <br />, and the trimming of the trees and bushes.
