Regular Council Meeting
8-19-02
Page 6
Dr. Parker asked that would probably push it back to next month; correct, Bernie? He addressed
Mr. Mills and asked, do you have any problem with putting this back to next month?
Mr. Mills said we are trying to get this up before the snow flies. We've been trying to do it all
summer.
Council President Buckholtz asked, Jim, would you like to state for the record what changes
you'd be willing to make to the project. You would not have to go back to BOA, you could
come directly to Council with those changes.
Mr. Mills replied I would be willing to move the building on the site or on the piece of property
according to Bernie and the Service Department, to make everything within proper drainage and
utilities and everything back there.
Council President Buckholtz asked when you say move it back, move it back roughly where?
Mr. Mills said in line with the other garage back there--wherever deemed necessary.
Mr. Samac said, excuse me Mr. President, I really don't want to be put in a position of deeming
where it is necessary.
t? Council President Buckholtz said I am trying to get a fix either by the trees or by the other
property owner's garage. I am trying to get a specific structure; not your opinion (with all due
respect.)
Mr. Mills said as we saw the property the other day; where it was discussed to move it back to
where the trees are, towards the rear of the property. We'd knock a couple of feet off the back of
it; if that would help me, I'd be glad to do that also.
Dr. Paxker said one other thing: as far as the driveway going back to there--I wouldn't want to
see that become a storage. In other words, that would be a conduit for you to get back to your
garage where you store your cars. It wouldn't be a storage site for additional cars or become a
parking lot for your car.
Mr. Mills said right. That's the reason we are trying to build a structure of this size--so
everything is under roof.
Dr. Parker said as long as that is understood, too. Thank you.
Council President Buckholtz clarified we will need a motion to table this pending those
modifications and then he can bring it back to Council.
Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Mr. Marrie, made a motion to table the consideration of BOA Case No.
_ 2002-6; a proposed garage for James A. Mills, 6689 Glenview Road.
