'- ~~ Regular Council Meeting
T 9-23-02
Page 10
Mr. Metzung said, yes we have been working with the Chagrin River Watershed partners
and the Euclid Creek Watershed, both of them doing exceptional work in the Issue II
areas. Kyle has offered to come out and give a 20 minute presentation that will really do a
lot more justice to what needs to be done than what I can explain.
Safety and Service -Mrs. Cinco said Safety and Service met on September 9th. At that
time, we recommended Chief Mohr looking into updating the generator at Village Hall.
He also requested going out for bid for a new ambulance that's in the budget for 2003 to
be split with Gates Mills, that will be forwarded as he gets more information to us.
Tonight on the agenda is approval for the maintenance agreement for the heart monitors.
Finance Committee - Dr. Parker said this evening the Finance Committee met and had a
number of items on its agenda. Item #1 the committee recommended approval, I should
note that half of this expense will be shared with Gates Mills. Item #2 the committee
recommended approval. Item #3 the committee recommended approval. Item #4 that item
was recommended for approval. Item #5 this would replace a gate at Parkview Pool that
has broken numerous times due to the amount of activity and the design and would now
be a sliding gate as opposed to a hinged gate, the committee recommended approval. Item
_ #6 we discussed this at length, do we need to update the amount of money as far as seed
money and first year operating expenses?
Council President Buckholtz said not to exceed.
Dr. Parker continues, not to exceed $25, 000 the committee recommended approval.
Some of the discussion centered around the fact that we would be looking toward other
communities to participate both financially and in the project physically as well as
looking towards corporations as to what they can do for us. We thought is was a
worthwhile program and we thought if we could start something like that through the
Village, we might make an impact. We would probably need an emergency ordinance for
the part time staff member so that we can approve that. We will ask our Law Director to
take care of that, the committee recommended approval. Item #7 the committee
recommended approval. Item #8 the committee recommended approval. Item #9 the
committee recommended approval. Item #10, a little adjustment to your hand out, not to
exceed $390,000 the committee recommended approval. Item #11 the committee
recommended we Defer Action for further discussion. Item #12 the committee
recommended we Defer Action for further discussion.
Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mr. Marrie said there was no meeting since the last time
we had a Council meeting. There is a meeting scheduled for Saturday October 12th at
9:00 at the Executive Caterers. There is going to be installation of their officers. The _
invited guest speakers are Governor Taft and Tim Hagen. Unfortunately I will be out of
town.
