~~ Regular Council Meeting
9-23-02
Page 25
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Ordinance Enacted
OPEN PORTION - 3-minute limit imposed by Chair. Those who wish to speak must
first state their name and address. This open portion is limited to discussion pertaining to
the items under "New Business" only.
Council President Buckholtz said I have two things to mention for the record: (1) The
Wage Ordinance Committee, I have already spoken to Mrs. Mills, and Dr. Parker and Mr.
Marrie have come forth to serve on that Committee. Does that sound good with
everyone?
There were no comments.
Council President Buckholtz said great, terrific, get going on that guys and good luck.
Item (2) on a sadder note, I'd like to announce a letter that I received tonight from
Councilman at Large Carmen Ilaqua who is resigning as Councilman effective Saturday
September 28, 2002. His letter states simply, and I quote; " I simply do not have the time
or the necessary physical and mental energy it takes to fulfill my obligation to the people
~~, of this wonderful community. This is a very personal decision and an issue that I have
struggled with for some time. I wish you all the best" I will submit this letter to Donna
for the record. Of course, we will miss Carmen and we wish him all the best and
recognize all the work that he has done.
Mrs. Mills asked, do you want to do a Resolution for him for our next Council Meeting?
Mr. Marrie said, I think that's an order.
Council President Buckholtz said, that is fine with me, I'd like to.
Mr. Marquardt asked, what is happening with the Church. They're supposed to be out
about now, no?
Mrs. Cinco asked, has final payment been made?
Mr. Brett said the final payment has been made.
Mrs. Cinco asked, then they have 2 or 3 years from the final payment?
Mayor .Rinker said the final payment was made in January.
Mr. Marquardt asked, do we have a rental agreement on that?
