Regular Council Meeting
10-21-02
Page 12
Mrs. Winteregg asked, I mean is that what you are proposing-to have some parking in the
front?
Mr. Jiannetti said I guess there is no parking on this particular plan. That's all landscaping along
the street, is that what you are asking?
Mrs. Winteregg said yes.
Mr. Jiannetti said I don't want to submit....
Ms. Winteregg said in the front of the building.
Mr. Jiannetti said right; on S.O.M.?
Mrs. Winteregg said not on S.O.M. but in the front of the building-yes, facing S.O.M.
Mr. Jiannetti said I don't want to submit to you that this is the final plan that will be submitted
but it will be somewhat like this.
Mrs. Winteregg said but right now there is no parking.. .
Mr. Jiannetti said that's not in that plan right now...
Mrs. Winteregg said because-I just want-I have a copy of the code here and I was just
wondering if this building has to be within code, it seems to me that then there would have to be
some parking in the front and if there is parking in the front, the guidelines says that there shall
not be less than 86' in depth, the setback, which needs to provide for the following 64' of two
tiers of parking and access drive, 12' of landscaped area in the front, 5' of landscaped area
adjacent to the side yards and 10' of sidewalk in the front. So it seems to me that they need to
provide more if the parking is in the front and it seems to me that that may be why you want your
building to be in the front part of the reason because they have less to deal with at that point.
Council President Buckholtz said thank you Mrs. Winteregg. And I'll just respond to that if I
may. And the comments are more or less directed directly at Council and you guys are welcome
to respond but if I can just respond to that, I think that's why I indicated that when they are going
to B&Z's just in the interest of expediting matters for everyone, for each and everyone of you,
Council, all of our time is valuable. So if they are going back to BZA with a revised plan, they
should at the same time be very clear on what the code is so that if BZA does not approve it and
Council does not-and Council upholds that lack of approval of a variance, then they are very
clear on what the code plan would be then. So, thank you for adding that. And we will see what
happens.
Mrs. Winteregg said I have one other thing to say, if I might.
Council President Buckholtz said sure.
._.l
