Regular Council Meeting
1-27-03
Page 4
way) has decided will commence at the same time. So I think iYll be a hotter Summer than it is a
v? cold Winter. We'll see.
Architectural Review Board and Board of Appeals (No one present to be sworn in)
Citizen's Advisory Committee - Mayor Rinker administered oaths of office to the following:
Joan Catalano, Art Goldstein, Shirley Jay, Eric Jochum, Joanne O'Brien and Jeffrey Schiemann
as members of the Citizen's Advisory Committee.
Community Iteinvestment Committee - Mayor Rinker administered oaths of office to John
Addams and members of the Community Reinvestment Committee.
Parks & Recreation Board - Mayor Rinker admuustered the oath of office to Mary Murphy as
a member of the Parks & Recreation Board.
Planning & Zoning Commission - Mayor Rinker administered the oath of office to Eric
Jochum as a member of the Planning & Zoning Commission.
Village Engineer .and Assistant Engineer - Mayor Rinker administered oaths of office to
Stephen Hovancsek as Village Engineer and Thomas Cappello as Assistant Village Engineer.
,
Mayor Rinker said that will wrap it up for now. Once again, and it was kind of an odd segue, but
? if we get started on this road program as we hope we do, we're going to be under construction
? for the next 2 years. And for you volunteers especially, I am sure you are going to be fielding a
lot of questions; meetings will be more important than ever. Because I think in all aspects,
everything that we do in Mayfield Village is going to be impacted. But in the long haul, when
we come out on the other side of this construction, I think everyone will find something to their
respecrive liking. I am very excited at the prospect of what this project, which could otherwise
just be another road improvement, I tliinlc we'll find will find a real axis of improvement within
the community. And we've talked about it before but between Recreation programs, quality of
living; I think it is going to impact a lot of the businesses; a lot of the way we function within our
community (I truly hope-and I firmly believe) will be enhanced. So, we're glad you're
continuing to stick with us and look forward to working with you this year for sure. Thank you.
COMNIENTS FR.OM COUNCII; PRESIDENT BUCKiIOLTZ
Council President Buckholtz said just echoing the Mayor's sentiment, I want to also thank all the
volunteers who work hard. And also mention that these committees tend to overlap so we really
want to keep an informal structure to that and just have people interfacing throughout the
community and discussing freely what goes on and making sure you attend Council meetings
whenever you can so that we have an open dialogue together with you. I would also like to
thank the members of Council and the committee appointments that we've kept close to what
they had been and keep people working together in a team effort.
I
??
