Regular Council Meeting
3-17-03
Page 3 .
the representative from the Amstel Company informing them that their use is not a
pennitted use and their application was denied. That was done on March 13.
Council President Buckholtz asked, has everyone seen a copy of that memo?
Everyone affirmed they have.
Council President Buckholtz said upon advice from counsel, we would need a motion to amend
the agenda to remove the item.
Mr. Riter made a motion to amend the agenda to delete the first item dealing with the 4 sub-
issues concerning the U-Store-It, Board of Appeals' items. Dr. Parker seconded the motion.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Agenda Amended
Fire - Chief Mohr reported:
• I attended the County Hazard Mitigation Meeting at the Regional Library Thursday night
so we're covered there. And part of the County Plan which is mandated under the
FEMA requirements.
• On Wednesday, March 26, there will be the statewide tornado test and we will be using
our siren at 9:50 a.m. as part of that testing.
Finance
• Mr. Brett said I am presenting to Council the Mayor's 2003 Budget and I would ask-
there are 2 more Mondays left in the year; I do have to have this passed by April ls`-so
that leaves the 24th and the 31St to discuss that. I am also available anytime for any
Councilperson who has specific questions as to the budget. We have taken a different
approach this year and have really tried to look at everything in a 5-year perspective.
That's a little bit different this year so in transition you will get some rough spots but this
will be moved into next year and we will just keep moving down the line where we start
to project out 5 years and the impacts over time.
Mrs. Mills asked do you want to set a date for that?
Mr. Brett said that would be at the discretion of Council. I am available every weeknight except
Thursday and Friday in the next 2 weeks. We would have to meet on the 31S` at the latest to pass
it.
Mr. Riter thinks we can have one on one meetings.
• It was the consensus of Council and Mr. Brett to hold the special meeting [for the
budget] on Monday,lVlarch 31St at 7 p.m.
