Regular Council Meeting <br />3-17-03 <br />Page 5 <br />Cemeterv- Mrs. Mills said no work was done in the month of February because of the weather. <br />The Garden Club, with the help of Roger Remec is designing the memorial garden in honor of <br />Joan Pumphrey. The Garden Club has received $400 in contributions for this project so it should <br />be a very nice addition to the cemetery. We will put benches in and flowering lilacs (that was <br />her favorite flower.) <br />Mayor Rinker asked where it will be located. <br />Mrs. Mills said we have not decided where it will be located yet; Roger is taking it all into <br />consideration. <br />Citizen's Advisory Board - Mr. Riter said Citizen's Advisory will be meeting on March 24 at <br />7:15 p.m. <br />Commission on A ing - Mrs. Roman read the report from Human Services Director Eunice <br />Kalina (attached.) <br />Safetv and Service - Mrs. Cinco said she is glad to hear the report from Eunice concerning the <br />lifeline service that she is trying to work out. Safety & Service met on March 3`d dealing with <br />free cell phones and emergency call buttons for seniors. We are leaving both of these on the <br />agenda as Eunice is looking into these things for us. Service Deparhnent: Regarding Phase 2 <br />Stormwater, Mr. Metzung, Mr. Samac and Mr. Cappello are meeting with Kyle Wells Dreyfuss. <br />We went through the whole package and shared some concerns. That was approved on the 3ra <br />of March. Police: There was the bill for Lake County Jails that went to Finance tonight. Lt. <br />Deardem mentioned that this is being reimbursed. Also on Finance agenda tonight was TAC for <br />$7,161 and Kustom Signals. Chief Mohr discussed full-time manning and also the technical <br />rescue air team truck which our share is $5,000 payable to Mayfield Heights. We talked about <br />the Beechers Brook upstream project as iYs different from the Issue 2 application. We will be <br />meeting next month before Caucus. <br />Finance Committee - Mrs. Mills said the Finance Committee recommended for approval items 1- <br />10 and deferred action on items 11 (the appropriation ordinance; it will be given first reading <br />tonight) and item 12 (Ordinance 2003-09, authorizing a contract for hospitalization; it will be <br />given a first reading this evening.) <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mr. Riter said no report this evening. <br />Historical Societv - Mrs. Mills said thank you for the check of $2,500. Your continuecl support <br />is much appreciated. The Mayfield Township Historical Bicentennial open house was very <br />successful. We had over 100 visitors attend March lst and 2°d to view the lower level display of <br />the 18051og cabin and the 1890 school room and the tool artifact area. Our light replacement <br />project on the second floor is on hold until a new trim strip kit is obtained; possibly 3-4 weeks to <br />complete the job. New visitation hours axe in effect now that the weekly construction hours are <br />being changed to a monthly maintenance schedule.
