Regular Council Meeting 5-19-03 Page 4 Safetv and Service - Mrs. Cinco said Safety & Service met May 12. We discussed: the asbestos removal on Wilson Mills, razing 2 properties, Beechers Brook, the Worton Park Drive creek. Also, Mr. Metzung requested the purchase of 2 new trucks which are on the agenda tonight. Finance Committee - Mrs. Mills said the committee recommended items 1-9 for approval; Item #10--Relay For Life was deferred for future discussion; it will be on the next agenda. Items 11- 14 were approved. The Committee recommends approval of (agenda items 15-18) 2003 Ordinances 11, 12 and 13 & 15 re the purchase of the Falkner property. Item #19, Ordinance 2003-16, will be changed to $14-15/range. We are approving Ordinance 2003-17 for the advertisement of bids and specifications for the flood plain widening in the area of Beechers Brook between 271 and the south side of Wilson Mills. Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mr. Riter said there was no report. Historical Society - Mrs. Mills said touch-up work is being performed in the log cabin in the schoolroom. The lighting project on the second floor has been completed. About 12 new memorial bricks have been added to the sidewalk in front of the Historical House. The last meeting of the season was held on May 14. We will resume meetings on September l Oth with the Ice Cream Social and Quilt Raffle. Council President Buckholtz asked if those bricks are always available and Mrs. Mills confirmed they are. M.A.R.C. - Mr. Marrie said there was no report. Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Maxquardt said there was no meeting; no report. Plannin,g and Zoning - Mr. Marquardt said Planning and Zoning met on May 12. The agenda included: 1. Special Use Permit for the OMNI Hotel on Beta Drive. (Recommended 5-2.) 2. Progressive Insurance for their 4`h building and garage. (Recoxnmended by unaniinous vote-7 of 7.) 3. Preliminary Site Plan Approval for proposed office and retail for Mr. Jack Carney. (Recommended 6-1 for approval.) Mr. Marquardt said there was a P&Z workshop meeting on May 15 and the following items were discussed: 1. Addition to Center Elementary School 2. Zoning property request for proposed Planned Residential Development and lot consolidation by Mr. Alvin Krenzler. 3. Site plan review of the lot splits, grading parcels 1, 2, 3& 4 for the Falkner property. 4. Alternate area site plan for the Carney property on S.O.M. Center Road (A review of the possibility to move the building closer to S.O.M. to fit in with a plan for that area)
