Regular Council Meeting <br />5-19-03 <br />Page 4 <br />Safetv and Service - Mrs. Cinco said Safety & Service met May 12. We discussed: the <br />asbestos removal on Wilson Mills, razing 2 properties, Beechers Brook, the Worton Park Drive <br />creek. Also, Mr. Metzung requested the purchase of 2 new trucks which are on the agenda <br />tonight. <br />Finance Committee - Mrs. Mills said the committee recommended items 1-9 for approval; Item <br />#10--Relay For Life was deferred for future discussion; it will be on the next agenda. Items 11- <br />14 were approved. The Committee recommends approval of (agenda items 15-18) 2003 <br />Ordinances 11, 12 and 13 & 15 re the purchase of the Falkner property. Item #19, Ordinance <br />2003-16, will be changed to $14-15/range. We are approving Ordinance 2003-17 for the <br />advertisement of bids and specifications for the flood plain widening in the area of Beechers <br />Brook between 271 and the south side of Wilson Mills. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mr. Riter said there was no report. <br />Historical Society - Mrs. Mills said touch-up work is being performed in the log cabin in the <br />schoolroom. The lighting project on the second floor has been completed. About 12 new <br />memorial bricks have been added to the sidewalk in front of the Historical House. The last <br />meeting of the season was held on May 14. We will resume meetings on September l Oth with <br />the Ice Cream Social and Quilt Raffle. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked if those bricks are always available and Mrs. Mills confirmed <br />they are. <br />M.A.R.C. - Mr. Marrie said there was no report. <br />Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Maxquardt said there was no meeting; no report. <br />Plannin,g and Zoning - Mr. Marquardt said Planning and Zoning met on May 12. The agenda <br />included: <br />1. Special Use Permit for the OMNI Hotel on Beta Drive. (Recommended 5-2.) <br />2. Progressive Insurance for their 4`h building and garage. (Recoxnmended by unaniinous <br />vote-7 of 7.) <br />3. Preliminary Site Plan Approval for proposed office and retail for Mr. Jack Carney. <br />(Recommended 6-1 for approval.) <br />Mr. Marquardt said there was a P&Z workshop meeting on May 15 and the following items were <br />discussed: <br />1. Addition to Center Elementary School <br />2. Zoning property request for proposed Planned Residential Development and lot <br />consolidation by Mr. Alvin Krenzler. <br />3. Site plan review of the lot splits, grading parcels 1, 2, 3& 4 for the Falkner property. <br />4. Alternate area site plan for the Carney property on S.O.M. Center Road (A review of the <br />possibility to move the building closer to S.O.M. to fit in with a plan for that area)
