Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council <br />Monday, October 15, 2018 <br />Page 10 <br />IVIotion to authorize expenditure in the amount of $12,739.00 to Mars Electric for <br />replaeement LED lighting at the I+ire Department. (Service Department) <br />Mrs. Mills; seconded by Mr. Marquardt, made a motion to authorize expenditure in the amount <br />of $12,739.00 to Mars Electric for replacement LED lighting at the Fire Department. (Service <br />Department) <br />Council President Saponaro asked, discussion? <br />Mr. Wynne stated, I spoke to our representative at NOPEC last week regarding tlus. They have <br />all intentions, subject to approval by the General Assembly, of renewing the grant program again <br />next year, which means we would get 100% reimbursement for this expense. <br />Council President Saponaro stated; very good. Keep us posted. Anything else? <br />There was no further discussion. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: All Motion Carried <br />NAYS: None Expenditure Approved <br />Motion to authorize the purchase of 2,500 tons of road salt from Cargill, Inc. at a <br />cost of $64.76 a ton. (Service Department) <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Marquardt, made a motion to authorize the purchase of 2,500 tons <br />of road salt from Cargill, Inc. at a cost of $64.76 a ton. (Service Department) <br />Council President Saponaro asked, any discussion? Let's reiterate this went up from <br />approximately $30 a ton last year to $64.76 but if we sign up for this program, we have to take <br />the salt. <br />Mr. Metzung stated, we passed a resolution saying we will be part of the purchase. When we <br />made that commitment, we joined the club. <br />Council President Saponaro stated, okay. Just wanted to be clear. Sometimes we make out on it <br />and sometimes we don't. <br />Mr. Metzung stated, correct. Good last year. This year, not so much. <br />Council President Saponaro stated, but not the highest it's been. <br />Mr. Metzung stated, cori•ect. <br />Council President Saponaro asked, an), other quesiions?
