Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, January 29, 2018
Page 2
We don't plan on coming to Council for this.. We are going to do this through initiative ballot.
The reason for that is that the process to come through Council takes many many months. We
would have to appear before Planning and Zoning and it would take about 8-9 months to even
get this on the ballot. We also want to have Council involved with any input that anyone would
have on it.
Council President Saponaro stated, very good. I know that you had passed these out. Can you
make sure these Plans get attached to the Minutes? Is that your intention?
Mr. Skoda replied, yes.
Council President Saponaro stated, also I know that you have business cards.
Mr. Skoda replied, yes. I will leave them on the table here.
Council President Saponaro stated, so anyone should be able to reach out and talk to you if they
have any questions regarding this. Terrific. Thank you.
Mr. Skoda stated, thank you.
Council President Saponaro stated, I know we axe also going to hear from the folks at SOM
Court, so if you would like to come up and state your name for the record. We would appreciate
it.
Jennifer Exoo
Thank you. I appreciate your time. My husband and I live in the Parkledge neighborhood in the
house closest to the existing Greenway Trail. I am here tonight with my neighbors to discuss the
current proposed location for the Beecher's Brook trail connector and tell you why our
neighborhood is opposed to this revised location.
My husband and I are the newest members of the Parkledge Community and I want to tell you
one of the reasons that we moved to Mayfield Village into Parkledge is because of the trail
system. It's fantastic. We enjoy it. All of our neighbors enjoy it. We use it almost every day.
We really really appreciate it. So when we saw the Master Plan of the proposed connector trail,
we were fine with it. It went south across the creek between where Fisher's Tavern used to be
and the creek and the trail ran down that way. That was great because it wasn't going to impact
the neighborhood really and we thought it was a nice use for the conservation land. So that was
all fine with us before we moved in. But of course now the Master Plan had to change because
of the creek relocation. The new proposed trail runs on the north side of the road really adjacent
to and really right on the property lines of many of our homes. So we think that this new
proposed trail location is going to negatively impact our neighborhood and potentially even the
conservation land itself. Therefore, our neighborhood collectively is against the current
proposed trail location north of Beecher's Brook. We don't want to take a lot of your time
tonight but some of us still want to bring up some important issues surrounding trail connection
