Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, February 19, 2018
Page 24
Since that time, Mary Beth and I have fielded many phone calls and in-person questions
from those residents. Having received no major objections, the next step in this process
would be Council to approve moving forward with the project and advertising for bid.
That's what this legislation is 'doing.
Council President Saponaro stated, very good. Any other questions?
Mrs. Mills asked, is there any way you could tell us, Tom, when you propose to start this?
Mr. Cappello replied, hopefully the bids will be accepted at the March 19th Council
meeting. Contracts would then be prepared and signed and we hope to begin work at the
beginning to mid-April.
Council President Saponaro asked, so at the March 19th meeting, the bids would be in?
Mr. Cappello replied, the bid opening is March 2nd, so we will have them for Caucus to
discuss and the request to accept the bid will be on Council agenda on the 19th

Dr. Parker asked, just on a clarification issue, maybe you can address this Ron. There will
be assessments associated with this, however, the Village in the past, and I assume in this
case too, has attempted to try to keep assessments throughout the Village similar by
helping to fund projects or such. That way, while there are assessments, the project is
typically much more expensive, but there will be assessments, correct Ron?
Mr. Wynne replied, correct. In the Resolution of Necessity, the assessment amount was
figured to be approximately $7,200. The Mayor and Council have taken the position since
the first sewer project which was the 1996 Worton Park Project, that no resident would pay
any more or any less than the residents in that project did. While costs have increased with
inflation, the assessments to the residents is fixed for all sewer projects since that point in
time. This assessment is the same as the ones that the Worton Park residents paid.
Council President Saponaro stated, very good.
Dr. Parker stated, thank you. I just wanted to be clear.
Council President Saponaro stated, thank you. Anybody else?
There was no further discussion.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
• First Readiniz of Ordinance No.
authorizing and directing the Mayor 1
Senior Living of Mayfield, L.L.C."
Whole.
