Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, June 18; 2018
Page 10
is not from the residents coming out of their homes on. Highland, it's from Beta Drive businesses and
then, is Alpha actually Highland Heights? -
Council President Saponaro replied, yes.
Mrs. Murphy stated, .okay, so our problem is Beta, but Alpha feeds out of there too. That's the
problem with the traffic. So what do we do? Stop letting businesses into Mayfield Village? That's
not the right answer either. I think the bigger problem with the congestiori is?tlie businesses.ori those
s'ide streets. And as far as the sewage and that, I am sure Service and Engineering is going to rectify
what Stivo is talking about. This isn't East CTeveland. It's going to be done lovely. As far as Police
and Fire go, I think that the nursing home, Artis, is probably going to be a bigger drain on our Fire
and Police. There are going to be more. calls there than normal hoines.. I am just glad it's not
Stonecreek. How about Stonecreek? Right across our border in Mayfield Heights. How many units
are there, maybe 100?_ And`then Hidden Woods right across the street from there in Mayfield
Heights. That's probably got 40-50 homes. So I'm glad tlus is.a smaller community, I trust that this
group will have things under control as we rriove on, but I don't see that there's been a deluge of
buildings so far: I encourage you to send it to the November ballot. Thank you.
Marv Singer
6533 Highland
I don't want to beat a dead horse to death but I go with everything Stivo said tonight. My big
concern is riumber one, the traffic. Yes it is businesses. Highland Road is a.two lane highway, not a:
four lane highway. When SOM Court was built, it was built with a four lane highway, not two lanes.
They have four lanes to come iiito iraffic. VJe have two. My biggest problem is the water. I have
been flooded on many, . of times. Wheri they built the church, across the street, I lost parf of my
garage. There was a ditch across my front yard that the Village did fmally pipe.in, Mr. Hovanscek .
and where they stopped with the piping all the way back which is tlie north side, of Highland; it still
flooded. It's still water: We still get it for 3-4, moriths at a time. If you allow 26 units to go in there
on a 6-acre lot, when we built our home we had to have 1 acre. You.are . going to create more
, problems. More water. Because the water is going. to flow east. It's going to go riglit across the
adjoining properties. That's my big concern. Plus the fact you warit to try to put cluster homes into a
residential area. SOM Court went into tlie back of Beta Drive.. There are no homes. There's one _
home across the street. That's it. There are no hoines around it. There's,a big difference between
Highland Road and SOM Court. Council President Saponaro stated, thank you. Anyone else?

Chris Skoda
6317 Kiiulard Drive
Highla.nd Heights
I am the developer proposing this subdivision. Just to address a couple of issues tliat were raised.
Pat-t of the flooding issue fiom the church that people may have noticed recently, I walk that area
every clay and I walked over there to take a look at the sewer system and i found there was a 55-
gallon drum stuck in the 30-inch drainpipe that they have in front of that church which I think is
