c! <br />full-time member of the Police Department, the Employer shall purchase those items for which <br />bills are presented together with an approval for payment from the Police Chief. <br />Section 25.4. Effective with the ratification of this contract, any employee who has a Village <br />purchased ballistic vest which is older than five (5) years old may be eligible to be reimbursed up <br />to an amount mutually agreed upon by the Village and the F.O.P. for replacement cost of a new <br />vest. However, should the officer receiving the vest terminate employment with the Village within <br />two years after receiving the vest, he will return the vest and the Village will refund the officer his <br />or her contribution. <br />Section 25.5 In the event an employee voluntarily leaves his employment prior to December 31 st <br />of any year, his uniform allowance for that year shall be prorated pursuant to the following <br />formula: <br />Uniform Allowance multiplied by Number of Days equals Allowance Due <br />365 of the year Passed <br />The prorata uniform allowance will be paid on the reimbursement basis per Section 25.2 and will <br />be paid with the following uniform allowance check run. <br />ARTICLE 26 <br />HOLIDAYS <br />Section 26.1. Effective at the beginning of each year, all members of the bargaining unit shall <br />receive the following paid holidays: <br />New Year's Day <br />Martin Luther King Jr. Day <br />Memorial Day <br />Independence Day <br />Labor Day <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />Friday after Thanksgiving <br />Day before Christmas <br />Christmas Day <br />Six (6) Personal Days <br />Section 26.2. All members of the bargaining unit shall receive one hundred twenty (120) hours of <br />holiday time on January 1St as compensation for the holidays listed in Section 26.1. This holiday <br />time shall be taken on a day during the calendar year to be picked by the employee with the prior <br />approval of the Chief of Police or Executive Officer, except that the Village retains the right to <br />schedule the use of holiday time on the holidays stated in Section 26.1. <br />Section 26.3. Any new member of the bargaining unit shall be entitled to holiday hours in his or <br />her first year of employment in accordance with their date of hire as follows: <br />January 1 through March 31: 120 hours <br />April 1 through June 30: 90 hours <br />July 1 through September 30: 60 hours <br />(W October 1 through December 31: 30 hours <br />20 <br />
