Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, October 21, 2019
Page 5
DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS:
Diane Wolgamuth (Administration) - Just a reminder that this year's Volunteer Appreciation
Dinner is this Friday starting at 6:00 at the River Grove Recreation area in the Metroparks. And
just to follow up on your comments about the rezoning. Mr. Coyne did put an article in the
Voice of the Village which should be out I am hoping by the beginning of the month. It gives
some more detail about those rezonings and there's a photo rendering of the buildings that are
proposed there. So look for that in the next issue. Thank you.
Council President Saponaro stated, thank you.
John Marrelli (Building)
. Planning and Zoning -Planning and Zoning Commission was pretty busy last Thursday.
They went through viewing some of the preliminary final site plans for the planned
residential development on the end of Highland Road near the 271 bridge. They
approved the tree clearing which had also gone through the Board of Appeals and are
recommending that the clearing start for roadwork and utilities but there are still details
that has to be fleshed out which you will see at the next Planning and Zoning workshop.
They also viewed a presentation for a 12 -unit planned residential development on the
northwest corner of SOM and Highland which will be going to the ballot possibly in
March.
Mr. Coyne stated, they have a lot of work to do before it even gets there, so I don't know
if it's going to get there yet. P&Z has to act and Council has to act as well.
Mr. Marrelli stated, so it's a piggyback on the school building rezoning, the surgery
center over at U -H. We also have this 12 -unit development on the corner of Highland
and SOM. We have already approved most of the development on the end of Highland
near the bridge.
Council President Saponaro stated, thank you. Anything on ARB?
Mr. Marrelli replied, nothing on ARB.
Council President Saponaro stated, okay.
Mary Betsa (Council) —
Upcoming events —
I have still been receiving reminders from the Mayfield Area Chamber of Commerce
about the State of the Cities' luncheon on October 24th from 11:30-1:00. If you still
would like to attend, just let me or Debbie Thomas know.
Also, just a reminder that Caucus on Monday, November 4th will be in Reserve Hall due to the
tn
fact that the Board of Elections will be setting up for voting on November 5
