Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council <br />Tuesday, January 21, 2020 <br />Page 4 <br />Mr. Murphy asked, where are you located? <br />Ms. Sattin replied, our main office is in South Euclid but we work out of all of the different <br />community centers. Social workers from Mayfield Village are in the Mayfield Heights City Hall <br />right now. <br />Council President Schutt stated, thank you. Any other comments? <br />There were none. <br />Comments from Mayor Bodnar <br />Thank you, Council President. As you all know, we have two brand new Council members that <br />we welcomed this year. We are pleased to see you both here. Some you know, some of you <br />may not, but one of our new Council members also gave us our newest citizen here in Mayfield <br />Village. Denny Murphy and his wife Katie had a baby, Millie Margaret Murphy. We asked <br />around the office to see how long it has been since an elected official in Mayfield Village had a <br />baby. It was so long ago, we couldn't remember. So, we did a Proclamation and we want to <br />recognize this special event. Denny is here tonight and Grandma Mary Murphy is sitting in the <br />background. I will read this into the record. <br />Proclamation in Celebration of the Birth of Millie Margaret Murphy <br />WHEREAS, Denny Murphy moved to Mayfield Village in 1997 with parents Mary and Dennis <br />Murphy and siblings. <br />WHEREAS, Denny Murphy graduated from Notre-Dame/Cathedral Latin and the Ohio <br />University Business School with a degree in accounting. <br />WHEREAS, in 2010, Denny Murphy began working at Skoda-Minotti on Beta Drive in <br />Mayfield Village and in 2015, Denny purchased a home on Hanover Road in Mayfield Village's <br />Ward 3. <br />WHEREAS, after meeting Katie Germovsek, a special education teacher in Bedford, Ohio at a <br />Brown's tailgate party, Denny and Katie married in November of 2017. <br />WHEREAS, Denny Murphy was elected to Mayfield Village Council in November of 2019 as <br />its Ward 3 Council Representative. <br />WHEREAS, on December 30, 2019, Denny and Katie Murphy gave birth to a beautiful baby girl <br />and named her Millie Margaret Murphy. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it proclaimed, that I, Mayor Brenda Bodnar, am pleased to recognize <br />Denny and Katie Murphy on the occasion of the birth of their daughter. I congratulate the entire <br />Murphy clan and wish Millie many years of happy memories growing up here in Mayfield <br />Village with her loving family, many friends, and their dog. <br />
