Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Tuesday, January 21, 2020
Page 9
DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS:
John Marrelli (Building)
Planning and Zoning — There was no Planning and Zoning meeting, so there will be no
report.
Mary Betsa (Council) —
Upcoming Events
• February 1, 2020 - Hillcrest Council of Councils Breakfast
• April 4, 2020 - Newly Elected Council Training — Independence, Ohio
• April 7-9, 2020 - Local Government Officials Conference — Columbus, Ohio
• May 6, 2020 - House Bill 9 Training — Mayfield Village Reserve Hall
Mrs. Betsa asked, if you have not already told me and you wish to attend any of the above
events, let me know and I will register you.
• May 16, 2020 -Shred Day — 9:00-12:00 — Civic Center Parking Lot
Mrs. Betsa stated, this event has been confirmed.
Mrs. Betsa continued, also, as an update, I sent the list of legislation passed in 2019 to the
codifier, Walter Drane, now known as American Legal Publishing. They have provided me with
a request for copies of legislation they need for codification. I will keep everyone posted.
Ron Wynne (Finance) — Our annual audit by the CPA firm James Zupka started today. They
will be in the office doing field work this week and then back in their office doing the
completion of the audit. We are looking to have an audit release the first or second week of
March. Regarding the 2020 budget, the preliminary draft of the budget is done. It's in the hands
of the department heads for review. I will be meeting with them next week to review their
budgets to make any additional adjustments and then hopefully have an initial draft in your
hands by the February 3`d Caucus meeting.
Council President Schutt stated, thank you.
Anthony Coyne (Law) — A couple of items. First of all, the Board of Elections has responded to
the language which will appear on the ballot for the two rezoning matters. One will be Issue No.
10, proposed zoning amendment which will state the following and it will be approved for
passage upon the affirmative vote of the residents who vote from Mayfield Village. It will state
the following: "Shall the zoning map of the Village of Mayfield be amended to change the
zoning classification of Permanent Parcel Number 831-15-003 located on SOM Center Road
from its current U-1 Single Family Residential District to Office -Laboratory District." This
property has sometimes been referred to as the Moyal property. It does not technically have an
address but it's adjacent to 730 SOM Center Road. For purposes of the language on the ballot it
will state what I just read. The Ordinance which was passed by Council has the legal description
for the properties to be so rezoned.
The second item is Issue 1 l which states the following: "Shall the zoning map of the Village of
Mayfield be amended to change the zoning classification of a portion of Permanent Parcel 831-
15-014 located at 6625 Wilson Mills Road from its current U-1 Single Family Residential
