Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council <br />Monday, August 17, 2020 <br />Page 3 <br />July 4h Fireworks, Village Days, Cruise Night and Mother's Day Pancake Breakfast, donning the <br />bunny suit for Easter Parties, developing the Village's first website, establishing the Records <br />Commission to organize Village records, and, when needed, providing assistance to all <br />Departments. In 1985, former Police Chief Stevens provided Donna with a Letter of <br />Commendation after she provided "invaluable assistance" to the Police Department. He stated, <br />"It is certainly nice to know that members of other municipal departments can pitch in to help out <br />another department during times of need"; and <br />WHEREAS, in 1996, Mayor Bruce Rinker presented Donna with an Outstanding Citizen <br />Award, notably in the Award's inaugural year; and <br />WHEREAS, in 2005, Donna's talents took her to the Human Services Department, which <br />later became known as Senior Services, where she spent the remainder of her career assisting <br />Mayfield Village's seniors, developing and overseeing recreational and educational programming, <br />running the senior snow plow program, arranging bus trips, and most recently, during the COVID- <br />19 pandemic, making regular calls to seniors at their homes to check on their health and well- <br />being; and <br />WHEREAS, Donna Heath has served the community of Mayfield Village with <br />exceptional commitment for over 40 years and, during her tenure, she was instrumental in <br />facilitating its growth. She watched over many Charter Review Commissions, helped develop the <br />2020 Vision Plan, and supported many initiatives, most notably, the SOM Center Road Widening <br />Project, the retention and growth of Progressive Insurance, and the development of the Parkview <br />recreational complex. <br />WHEREAS, Mayfield Village and its residents have clearly benefitted and prospered as a <br />result of Donna's dedication and hard work. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF <br />MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Donna Heath be and is hereby recognized and congratulated for 40 years of <br />dedicated and exceptional service to Mayfield Village. On behalf of residents, <br />business owners department heads and staff, we wish her many years of health <br />and hWiness enjoying travel dinners out with friends and family, golf, and <br />yes heavy metal. <br />Back to you Steve. <br />Council President Schutt stated, it's my understanding that Donna's audio is not working so she's <br />not able to make any comments. We just want to thank her for her commitment and dedication to <br />the Village. <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Marquardt, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 2020-40. <br />Council President Schutt asked, discussion?
